"I called A-1 Superior Plumbing and they answered the call. They were able to accommodate my schedule and were out the following day and replaced the ejector pump. My dealings with this company were positive. Joe, who came to my home to do the job, was professional and efficient and I would definitely use them again."

"Paul from PSP came to do the job and was freaking awesome. He found the issue quickly and explained what was needed. The plumber that was out yesterday couldn't get this done. I'm grateful for Paul and adding PSP to my contacts to use at my business for any further plumbing needs."

Customers say: True professional

"He responded to my call right away. He worked on a early Saturday morning so that we would be able to move into our house on time. I found his prices to be competitive, lower than other repairs services I had got estimates from. He also helped me save money buying my water heater directly from the service provider.
I really enjoyed working with Charlie, he is friendly, and knowledgeable. Everything he installed and repaired is working great. Things that stuck out about Charlie is he is exacting, neat and took pride in his craftsmanship. The repairs were done with impressive high quality. He is very clear and thorough about costs changes, receipts, and warranties. He even followed-up with me to make sure I had all the paperwork, receipts, and if everything was working well. He didn't show up quite at the scheduled time but he called to give me a heads up that he was running a late and when he would get there. Charlie is great, he is on my favorites list and I wil.l use his services in the future.

"Ed was very knowledgable about my pump and explained everything about it from the start. His team replaced my pump gave me a warranty and explained everything I needed to know to maintain it. He sat down with me and made sure I understood everything he did, why he did it and what to expect from it. He let us know to contact him if there was anything else we needed. He was timely and courteous and as a senior it is important to me that I felt really good about the transaction. I would refer him to anyone."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to drain wastewater and solid waste into the municipal sewer system or a septic tank. For fixtures below this level, like those in a basement, gravity cannot move the waste upward. The ejector pump provides the force needed to pump the sewage up to the main line. Without one, wastewater from below-ground fixtures would back up, potentially causing a sewage overflow and flooding. If all of your plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity is sufficient and an ejector pump is not needed.

Every three to four months, you should clean any dirt and debris off of your sump pump. You should also check the inlet screen (at the bottom of the pump) to make sure that it isn’t blocked. On top of that, you should deep clean your sump pump once per year—or hire a sump pump pro to do it for you.

First, you can try unplugging the two sump pump cords, one for the motor and one for the float switch, then plugging them back in to reset the sump pump. You can also reset the sump pump by turning it off and back on at the breaker. Many sump pumps have a reset button, which you can press and hold for a few seconds to reset the device.

The most common cause of a clogged sump pump is natural debris buildup. As water enters the sump pit, it can carry small pieces of debris that build up over time, or the debris can get caught in the filter. If you forget to cover the pit after cleaning the sump pump and pit, debris can also collect in the pit. Corrosion on the metal discharge pipe can also clog the pump. Additionally, if your pipes freeze, it can prevent water from draining properly and cause a clog.

Yes, it’s possible to install a sewage ejector pump outside rather than in a basement. However, there may be some extra steps involved, including running pipes from the inside to the outside of your home and digging (and re-filling) a hole for the basin. If you aren’t comfortable with this type of work, contact a plumbing pro to handle it for you.
