"Marc Anderson was incredibly helpful, walking me through the typical process and advising me that I may not need an architect for my specific renovation plans. However, if I do need an architect, he'll be happy to help and I feel assured that I'm dealing with a straight shooter."

"We met with owner/senior architect, Firmin Senga to join us in the viewing of our desired property. We wanted to have an architect on board with us for reassurance that the updates we plan will work before we make an offer. He was very helpful."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Angelo Pecoraro, the owner of A.P. Builder, was a pleasure to work with from start to finish on our major remodeling project of adding a sunroom to our home. Out of many contractors I called to get an estimate, he was the only one willing to provide options to have the project fit our budget. Once we agreed to move forward, he worked diligently with the architect and village to get the permits finalized (which is a difficult task in my town). Once the work started, he provided almost daily updates of the work that will be completed and any anticipated inspections (which we passed easily). He also reached out himself to finalize details from big items like windows to small ones like the molding. The result was a beautiful sunroom and deck which I receive compliments on regularly. Do yourself a favor and for your next major home remodel/renovation work with Angelo and A.P. Builder!"

"Firmin is a pleasure to work with. He is professional, responsive, and he helped me immensely by creating a set of drawings for a condo renovation. He came over to my house, discussed the project with me and made me realize that my design needed some adjustments. I was very grateful for this because I think I would not have liked it otherwise. He created the drawings on schedule and delivered by the agreed upon deadline. I would hire Senga Architects again without thinking twice."

Customers say: True professional

"Trudy from True Line Studio is a true professional in every sense of the word. Her exceptional work on our Luxe Realty studio headquarters project has left us thoroughly impressed. We purchased an old bank building with a vision to transform it into a multifunctional space, combining commercial and residential units. Trudy played an instrumental role in bringing our vision to life. From the very first consultation to the final project completion, Trudy exhibited unwavering dedication and a profound understanding of our needs. She navigated the complex process of acquiring all the necessary drawings and permits with ease and precision. Her extensive knowledge of the local regulations and zoning requirements streamlined the permitting process, saving us both time and money. What sets Trudy apart is her ability to balance the artistic and functional aspects of architecture. She seamlessly blended the historical charm of the old bank building with modern design elements, creating a space that is both elegant and highly functional. The transformation was nothing short of remarkable, and we owe it all to her expertise and vision. Trudy's attention to detail, responsiveness, and commitment to excellence made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. She worked closely with our team, ensuring that all our requirements were met and even exceeded. Her dedication to our project went above and beyond our expectations. We wholeheartedly recommend Trudy to anyone seeking a commercial or residential architect. Her talent, professionalism, and dedication are truly exceptional. We are immensely satisfied with the work she has done for us, and we look forward to collaborating with her on future projects."

Architects questions, answered by experts

A home elevator is a fantastic way to improve your home’s accessibility. Elevators allow anyone, even those who use wheelchairs or walkers, to safely move between floors within your home.

Dumbwaiters may allow you to move items up and down floors, and stair lifts can move people up and down, but elevators are the best option if you need space for people, their belongings, and/or mobility aids such as wheelchairs.

That said, home elevators cost more than other options, such as stair lifts. Consider your needs and your budget when deciding the best way to make your home more accessible to a person with a disability or a person who is aging in place.

Mid-century modern architecture was a popular home style throughout the U.S. from the 1950s to 1970s. Most homes feature a wide and symmetrical floor plan with low-sloped roofs and floor-to-ceiling windows. Its minimalism and balanced appearance are back on the home style scene, particularly when maximizing sunlight, airflow, and a blend with the home's natural surroundings.

You have three options in terms of professionals who can draw up blueprints: a draftsperson, an architect, or a structural engineer. A draftsperson can sometimes draw up plans for new construction, but they more often work from approved plans for alterations or to provide 3D drawings. Architects are usually the best option for standard residential construction projects. Structural engineers might be necessary for custom home builds or for alterations that could affect your home’s structural integrity. Draftsmen cost the least of the three, followed by architects and then structural engineers.

Mediterranean architecture comes from traditional building styles of countries on the Mediterranean Sea mixed with French, Greek, and Moroccan influences. There are three main types of Mediterranean architecture: Italian Renaissance, Spanish Revival, and modern.

Some signature components of Mediterranean architecture include red terra cotta roofs, archways, stucco siding, and metal detailing on windows. These homes often have balconies and outdoor living areas.

The process typically takes 2-6 weeks, depending on the project size and level of customization.
