Kristen was a pleasure to work with. She takes the time to understand her client needs, is creative, and easy to work with. Additionally, she understands the entire permitting process in both the city and suburbs and made that process so easy. My son is currently working with her on a basement remodel. We will definitely work with her again.

Not many people can claim that they they have made a friend in their architect and general contractor. Well we did! Not only is Kristen Kollias very personable but she brings deep knowledge, attention to minute details and a commitment to see the project through on time and budget. Kristen's dedication to her craft and her anticipation of problems kept our kitchen gut renovation on track with many minor course corrections to get the best bang for the buck while not sacrificing quality. She clearly communicated what we were to expect through the process and kept us abreast of any changes in a timely manner. She was present in person to oversee the different tradesmen and demanded quality workmanship from them. The end result was a beautiful, warm and functional kitchen completed on time and under budget. I cannot recommend her more as an architect and general contractor. Whoever hires her is lucky !

I worked with Kristen for the last 7 years on various projects and it has always been completely satisfactory and professional process. Architect Kristin Kollias has provided me with professional and responsive help in the renovation of a vacant single family bungalow in Chicago that required extensive repair for compliance with the City of Chicago codes. She assisted in guiding me in obtaining required site plan for the residence; addressed the structural, electrical and plumbing details required; drafted and created the architectural floor plans that fit my vison of interior space; and facilitated in obtaining the necessary city permits from City of Chicago. Clearly she is a true professional and her services are greatly appreciated.

We are just starting the renovation at this point, but Kristen did a great job with the plans. She met with us and listened to what we wanted, and then continued to tweak the plans until we were satisfied. She had good advice and insight into many of our concerns, since this is our first major renovation, and our house is almost 100 years old. Kristen met with us as needed, and then worked with our village to get the plans approved. We were thrilled with Kristen and would definitely call her again when we need an architect.

Kristen has been great to work with. This is the first major renovation project that my husband and I have done. Kristen has been great answering all our questions and walking us through the process. She's been great working with our contractor too. We would highly recommend Kristen and we would definitely use her services again.

We met with her and gave her our wish list and asked what was and was not possible . The plans she drew up are great. She knows the city regulations, Chicago, and kept our wishes in mind. Communications were great and scheduling was flexible . Our plans are beautiful and we are trying to find a builder to complete our dream. If you need and architect, do yourself a favor and meet with her.

Kristen is an experienced and hands on Architect that knows her craft exceptionally well and demonstrates professional guidance and creativity in terms of getting accomplished the vision of what the objective was for the total restoration project.  This was no easy task as my home is on Forest Avenue located in the historic district and she uses a very cost effective and quality method in terms of project management and scope creep.  Additionally, she is experienced in many restorations projects so can give good insight on the value of certain features and areas that you may want to consider.  
Most importantly, she listens to what you are interested in achieving and works to align the plans with the project goals.  Meets timelines for project.
I can highly recommend her for work as she has exceeded expectations on a difficult and complex restoration.

She knows a lot about permits and code. We didn't have one instance where we had a problem. She worked really well with us and the city employees. On the first project she helped with the permitting process and plan reviews. We learned a lot and incorporated into our second project. She is fantastic. We have nothing but good things to say about her.

Kristen worked very will with us. She came by several times
to go over her plans with us. She had a very simple contract drawn up for
us that explained everything that she would do for us and what items would
cause us extra money. There was no grey area to wonder about, thus no
surprises during the project. I actually screwed up on the appointment
with the permit office. Kristen knew one of the architects at the office,
made a call, and got us a special appointment. She promised us she would
have the blueprints for us on 'x' date She met her deadline despite her hard
drive crashing on her. She thought/anticipated things the permit office would
ask for. As a result the changes to the plans were minimal and she was actually
able to do the changes at our kitchen table. During the construction process
she came by at our request a couple of times to review progress. It was a good thing she did. She spotted several issues where the
contractor had made mistakes that he had to rectify. If she had not come out, we really would have
had some serious problems down the road. She was always available by phone to ask
opinions/advice. She worked very well
with what we told her we wanted to do and we are very happy with the outcome of
her design.
