Above and Beyond Construction recently completed an almost whole-house renovation including a family room addition, a fully remodeled kitchen, relocated stairways, three bathrooms, and a finished basement. The addition seamlessly blends with the original spaces, making it feel like a natural extension of my home. The work is detailed and outstanding to the point that visitors do not know where the original 1911 house ends and the 2024 house begins. The highly skilled craftsmen matched the woodwork details of the original house to the new addition perfectly. Chester is easy to work with, has a positive outlook, and a good sense of humor. He will work with you to answer questions, provide suggestions, and address concerns throughout the renovation process. Above and Beyond transformed my little frame house from an outdated, decades-neglected, design and décor calamity left by the prior owners into an elegant space that honors tradition yet transcends centuries.

Chester and his team were very respectful of working in our home while we were also working from home. They were able to diagnose and fix our plumbing issue, including completely replacing all the cabinets that had been damaged beyond repair. Job was done in a timely manner - especially given the extent of the water damage. Chester and his team were the only contractors who agreed to take on the repairs, after we had several contractors/companies say the job was too big for them. 10/10 would hire again (though hopefully we won't need to!)

The carpenters were highly skilled. They removed the old porch and replaced it with high-quality workmanship. They cleaned up everything and left us as highly satisfied customers.

The job, carpet removed, new floor installed in dining room and hall, took one day, which was the time the vendor estimated. The vendor arrived on time with two other workers. The job was completed with careful attention to detail and looks beautiful. Workers were very polite. They tried to inconvenience me as little as possible, because my space is not large. Clean-up was thorough. The price paid was fair. Note: they do not take credit cards. The business owner was very pleasant and concerned with my satisfaction. I would definitely use this vendor again and plan to. I highly recommend his services.

Chester was great to communicate with. They did nice job of prepping the work site in order to preserve the historical aspects of the home such as the staircase. His crew was kind and courteous.

It went very well. No one likes to give up months of their life to a remodeling project but I have to say it was a positive experience overall and the results bring me joy every day. The crew members were expert in their skills, worked hard every day, paid attention to detail (even more than I did, which is unusual!), did not stop until it was just right, corrected some of the prior work others had done which was sub-par, and delivered what they promised. At one point a problem with water seepage became evident and a thorough solution was conceived and executed, on one of the hottest days of the summer. Communication was consistent and positive. I was encouraged to ask all my questions ("better before than after"), I was consulted about options that I didn't even know were possible and received great suggestions, the individuals who were working in our home were easy to work with and even enjoyable to have around! A few times it was necessary to communicate the same thing more than once if different individuals were involved, which seems normal to me. Overall I would say it was a confidence-inspiring experience. I developed a trust in their quality and their delivery of what was promised, and in this industry, that says a lot.

Chester and the crew at Above & Beyond Construction are great! They completed our home addition and we look forward to working with them again on any future construction or home projects. Project - home addition above existing garage (bedroom and full bath) Budget - the stated budget was the final cost. Any additional costs associated with the project were well communicated (before the work was done) so we were not shocked or surprised. Craftsmanship/Work - the crews arrived on time and ready to work. They showed great respect to our house and neighbors. If they saw something that they were concerned about, it was addressed and discussed. The go out of their way to do it right, the first time. Chester was also able to find subcontractors that performed quality work that were budget friendly and timely (for example, we didn't have to wait days/weeks for an electrician/plumber to show up). We felt like we were their top priority even though they had other projects they were working on. Permits - Chester and crew handled the permits and communicated the project with our architect. His crew would also meet with the City for the permit inspections, which were approved on the first inspection because he and his crew do things the right way. They were very knowledgeable about what the City wants/prefers so inspection/permit process was easy. Communication - Chester was our main contact but we also felt comfortable talking with any crew members about our concerns. Chester was always available and just a phone call away to help resolve any problem or also answer any questions we might have about the process and next steps as the addition was being completed. It was great working with Chester and his team at Above & Beyond Construction and we would recommend him and his team.

Above & Beyond Construction lived up to their name yet again! The team was able to quickly help with our project of one complete bathroom gut renovation (tile, plumbing, custom built-ins, painting and installing all new fixtures) and an update to a half bath that included installing a custom vanity, new lighting, replacing the toilet and painting. We threw a lot of curveballs at them with our dated bathrooms, but they were able to incredibly work within two weeks to overhaul both bathrooms. Amazing! The team was very respectful of our family's safety with COVID precautions and minimized any concerns we might have had. I would 100% recommend using Above & Beyond for any projects, big or small. Hopefully we can work with them again in the near future!

Quality and craftsmanship was excellent. I trusted Chester, the project manager completely. Our house was over 90 years old and he went literally "above and beyond" to help us when unrelated issues happened to come up with our boiler. He employs very talented subcontractors that he has worked with for years and who helped contribute to the smooth completion of our project. He has excellent taste and was extremely helpful in offering his opinion when we decided to make some changes. We were very happy with the look and finish of our garage- we re-used brick from the demolition and he was able to make the exterior match our existing house perfectly. He is attentive and available to answer questions and personally inspected all of the work as it was completed

We used Above & Beyond Construction to gut and remodel one full and one half bathroom in our 1960-built house. This was our first big home remodeling project and we couldn’t have been happier with the results. Chester and his crew were easy to work and communicate with, kept us updated with timing and progress, and identified additional issues that needed to be addressed (aka some really nasty old corroded cast iron pipes and cracked joists in our basement) to prevent future catastrophes. If we hadn’t fixed them we know we’d have ended up having to rip out the beautiful new bathroom within 6 months due to the failure of the old plumbing! They take pride in their work and take care to protect the rest of the house from dust and dirt, completely clean up the work site at the end of every day, and we had no problem trusting any of them in the house when we couldn’t be home. There were no budget surprises, either; the estimate was right on target. When we get up the nerve to tackle the gut rehab of our old kitchen we will look no further than Above & Beyond Construction!

Great! Had a creepy 100 year old basement that flooded and needed tons of work. A big project but we could not be happier with how it turned out!

Our project was significant because it involved a very large and heavy steel beam. Chester solved the problem of getting it into the house and installing in a relatively tight space. His team performed well and with no damage to rest of house. His price for this work was very competitive and I would go to him for other remodeling needs.

Chester and his men did an excellent job. During the remodeling they were careful not to disturb the rest of our living quarters. They cleaned up every day and were very thoughtful through out the project. He was helpful with every detail. Since parts of the house are over 100 years old, I knew that I would need a lot of new decking under the roof. I also needed drip edge material installed to prevent ice dam problems that I had been experiencing. I also needed trim repair and gutters. Everything turned out great. The timing was great as well. that got it done in 3 days working dawn to dusk just before the cold weather set in. The acid test was the one stretch in January where we got at least 18 inches of snow without a thaw. I had the ice dams as usual but no leaks this time. This outfit is very professional and is a real bargain if your looking for top quality workmanship. I would not hesitate to use them again for any type of general contracting work that you might need. I found out about Above and Beyond with my own 2 eyes. I was really impressed with some projects he was doing for my neighbor. I found out that my neighbor had been using them for years on a variety of projects.
