"I have used Mike's Computer Repair for several years now, and have always been extremely satisfied. Mike is very trustworthy so I never have to worry about turning over "control" of my computer to him. I have called on Mike numerous times when I mess up something on the computer and he quickly takes care of my mistakes and doesn't act like I'm an idiot. I highly recommend using Mike."

"Computer did the "gotta send info to Microsoft" but when tried to reboot it ran through automatic repair without success. I did all the alternative without any success. He came and picked up the hard drive on Tuesday and returned it on Saturday. Fortunately he was able to "restore" without any data loss. Very happy with outcome."

"Went very well.....scheduled appointment at my convenience, was on time, and worked very quickly.  Showed what work he did.  I waited a couple of weeks before submitting this report to make sure I had no further issues.   Computer works fine and problem resolved.  I would use My Computer Buddy again.
Very professional.....explained everything he was going to do.

"They were a little slow on replying to my inquiries, sometimes several days.
My laptop was returned fully functional, but covered with dust. I had to clean it when I received it.
They did more than I asked by replacing the motherboard, where I thought that they would only repair the DC jack (my laptop wouldn't charge after buying a new battery and a new AC adapter).

Computer Repair questions, answered by experts

In Peoria, placing computers near heating vents in winter or in humid basements without ventilation can undermine recent computer repair work. The region's agricultural dust clogs internal fans faster, while neglecting to use a surge protector during frequent Midwest thunderstorms risks electrical damage. Exposing devices to extreme car temperatures in summer or winter also shortens the lifespan of components.

Helpful?

Peoria’s climate poses unique challenges for computer repair. High summer humidity and heat cause overheating, while dry winter air increases the risk of static damage during internal work. The area’s 38 annual thunderstorm days mean power surges are a constant threat. Furthermore, agricultural dust from surrounding farmland can infiltrate systems, accelerating hardware failure if not addressed through regular cleaning.

Helpful?

Watch for increased fan noise in your Peoria home, as it often indicates dust buildup from the local agricultural environment. Other warning signs include intermittent freezing during seasonal temperature changes or visible corrosion around ports from humidity. Any crackling sounds from speakers after a storm can signal electrical issues that require immediate attention to prevent a larger computer repair.

Helpful?

In Illinois, a frequent mistake is ignoring environmental factors, like attempting a computer repair in a humid basement or an unheated garage during winter. The dry winter air increases static electricity risk, so working without proper anti-static protection is a critical error. Many also fail to use adequate surge protection designed to handle the region's powerful storm patterns.

Helpful?

It’s wise to schedule a computer repair in Peoria during the fall or early spring to prepare for seasonal extremes. You should seek immediate help if your machine struggles during temperature transitions, crashes during thunderstorm season, or shows slow performance from dust buildup during dry winter months. If your computer is over three years old, proactive maintenance is recommended.
