"Frank was extremely patient with me, listened to my ideas, even told me what could cause me problems in the future. I love that kind of honesty. This company is not the cheapest and it is not the most expensive, but they educate you while giving you an estimate. They teach you how to ask questions with each bidder on your project. You come away feeling knowledgeable & armed with the proper, questions to make an informed decision. This is the reason, I chose this company. And I do not regret that decision. Midway through, I added things, the price went up, but such is life. Toward the end everything starting fitting together so perfectly, that had it not been for the mosquitos, I would have spent the night outside, looking at my house. I love what Frank and his crew have done. You can not go wrong with this team. They will not disappoint. Your money is well spent. Frank listened to my ideas. I am certain he learned a lot about zen gardens & pi. He actually gave me my dream garden. If I could give 10 stars, I would. This is gold star quality."

"Very professional from start to finish. We have an older home that has partial cinder block foundation. They were able to seal the problem areas and with recent heavy rainfalls, all dry! They sent me a video prior to the job to show us exactly how the process worked. Very happy and satisfied would definitely recommend Real Seal!"

Masonry questions, answered by experts

The best tool for drilling into brick or mortar is a rotary hammer drill which is a large hammer drill with low rotation speed and high torque. Regular drills with a hammer function are also excellent tools for drilling into brick when the diameter of the hole is 1/2 inch or less. It might be possible to drill into brick with a standard drill if you’re only drilling a very small hole, but note that masonry work will put a lot of wear on a standard drill, and the tool may not be strong enough to get through brick.

Mortar is a mixture of sand and cement that binds materials, such as bricks, stones, and concrete blocks, together. Think of it as the glue that fills in the gaps between bricks and stones, then seals them in place to prevent damage or deterioration. Mortar also helps spread the load across a wall or structure, keeping cracks and shifting at bay.

The cost to install or replace brick or stone siding generally ranges from $10 to $50 per square foot. The final price depends on several factors, including the specific material type, local labor rates, and any necessary preparation work, such as removing old siding. For example, different types of stone have varying costs per square foot: natural stone ($4.50–$35), stone veneer ($11–$13), faux stone ($6–$9), and cultured or manufactured stone ($5–$8).

Do not use super glue to hang lights on brick unless you want your lights up year-round. Hot glue is a better choice because it’s easily removable with a small amount of rubbing alcohol. Super glue is very hard to remove, and you could tear off parts of the brick in the removal process.

Handbuilt masonry fireplaces are likely what comes to mind when we think about curling up by the fire at the end of the day. But bricks in the firebox and chimney tend to be heavy, which is not ideal for homes with weak or damaged foundations.

Prefabricated fireboxes come with a full flue and chimney system, significantly reducing the price and installation time. However, if you need to replace the panels down the line, you are locked into the same model or something very similar.
