"Jason and his 3 men crew were on time for our appointment day of the service. Jason (tree climber) were very professional, efficient and diligent in pruning our over grown and dead branches and shaping our over 25 ft Locust tree. Jason and his crew worked diligently and cleaned up all the debris. They were so good that my neighbor requested for their number. I definitely contact them again. I would recommend Illinois Tree Service to family and friends."

"2/14/26 Nic Trees Fidel's service definitely deserves 5 stars! He climbed up the tree to cut down and remove a huge tree branch that was blown and fallen onto our roof. He worked very skillfully and carefully to section the branch and lowered the trunk pieces onto the ground away from our house. He is very responsive to our call for service, came to price out the job the next day, and had the job done two days later. I highly recommend his service!!!!!"

"My brother recommended Chicagoland Forestry to me. They did great work. I had two large trees removed and their stumps grinded away. They removed the trees with proficiency and safely then came back the next day and took care of their stumps. The job was finished in no time and they cleaned up nicely. Would recommend them to anyone."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The amount of time it takes for a tree trunk to rot depends on several factors, including the tree’s size, species, and environmental conditions. It can take anywhere from a few years to several decades for a tree’s trunk to rot. A tree stump, on the other hand, can take up to 10 years to disappear after it’s decayed naturally.

Yes, it’s possible to overwater a newly-planted tree. Daily watering is great for the first few weeks, but it’s important not to go overboard. Excessive watering can lead to various problems, including root rot, fungal diseases, and a lack of root development.

Unless it’s dead or dangerous, think twice about cutting down a tree in your yard. They’re good for health, well-being, wildlife, and the environment. Plus, local authorities often have regulations prohibiting the removal of trees, especially protected species or individual trees with historical value.

A tree can split because of high winds, a change in temperature, or from an infestation or tree disease. All of these factors can overlap, making a single cause difficult to pinpoint. While winter storms are some of the most common causes for a tree to split, it can also happen because of termites or rot.

Leaving the tree stump and letting it rot is never a good idea, as this leads to insect infestations and other frustrations. Additionally, decomposing trunks are at risk for diseases that spread out to the remaining plants and trees in the yard, thus ruining your whole outdoor aesthetic. It's usually best to remove the stump at the same time you remove the tree.
