"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

2008 years of experience

Appliancezone.com is a leading on-line retailer of appliance parts and accessories for do-it-yourself homeowners. Incorporated in 2008, it was started by CEO, Jim Allen and his wife Paula, who operated an appliance repair business for nearly fourteen years prior to starting the internet company Appliance Zone.

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

"Not good do not use for this check-up. The same guy came over at the beginning of the heating season and at the beginning of the air season. Really doesn't do anything just opens up the unit and checks for 10 minutes and leaves. Doesn't even say much about the units condition. Save your money. A complete waste of time. Would not use them for repairing either system since they haven't shown me they care about the service they give. This happened over a year ago and I have since needed service on my air conditioning unit."

Family owned & operated. Additional phone numbers - (309)663-0369 & (309)347-5959.

"Bad Service!!! Very unprofessional. We had a service call on a broken washer and the tech was only here for 10 minutes and mis-diagonised the machine which cost us more time and money. We tried to work it out with them and have them come back out and they would not even come out again! Still charging us for service call. Very bad business and please do not use them. Sad when companies like this take advantage!"

When you think of more selection in the latest and best in appliances, think of Hampton's. Our showrooms feature all of the best brands and incorporate all the latest trends in design. So when you walk through a Hampton's showroom, you'll be able to see all kinds of appliances with all the latest features at surprisingly low prices. As always, our kitchen designers and appliance consultants are ready to answer any questions you may have about your specific application.

"We worked with Hamptons through our contractor. They made several design mistakes in all of the areas we were remodeling. When we voiced our concerns, they refused to correct any of the mistakes. We learned too late that the company and owner does not have a good reputation in the community. There are many better options in the area. Avoid Hamptons at all costs."

When considering how to dispose of other appliances, a landfill is also usually not an option. The biggest difference is that electrical appliances like refrigerators, washing machines, or dishwashers aren’t as easy to transport as a portable microwave. Some local councils offer bulky uplift services (although a fee may apply), scrap metal recyclers might pick yours up, trade-in options on big items are more common, and some utility companies offer incentivized recycling programs.

It's recommended that you only use your circuit breaker for your water heater. Tacking on additional appliances, especially large ones like refrigerators, can overload the circuit and lead to electrical fires. Therefore, it's best to have separate circuits for each major appliance, particularly continuous load appliances, which use a lot of energy over prolonged periods of time.

Practically, everything. However, steam ovens work best with delicate ingredients with high moisture levels, such as vegetables, eggs, porridge, and oatmeal. As long as your oven is big enough, you can also use steam ovens to cook meat, fish, pasta, and even pizzas. They are also a great option for reheating leftovers since they can retain the flavors.

Preventive measures include keeping appliances clean, avoiding overuse, and storing them in suitable environments to prevent malfunction.

A microwave can last anywhere from five to 10 years. To get the most out of this appliance, you should follow a few maintenance tips:

  • Immediately clean up spills and food bits. To help with stuck-on food, heat a bowl of water with ¼ cup of lemon juice for one minute.

  • For over-the-range microwaves, clean the grease filter that’s underneath it. This will ensure the microwave runs efficiently.

  • Never put anything metal in the microwave, as it can create a fire hazard. Also, avoid dishes with metal trim for the same reason.

  • Avoid slamming the door. With years of use, the door switches could easily break.
