Not good do not use for this check-up. The same guy came over at the beginning of the heating season and at the beginning of the air season. Really doesn't do anything just opens up the unit and checks for 10 minutes and leaves. Doesn't even say much about the units condition. Save your money. A complete waste of time. Would not use them for repairing either system since they haven't shown me they care about the service they give. This happened over a year ago and I have since needed service on my air conditioning unit.

The serviceman came at the early end of the time that was scheduled.  He was polite and professional.  He went to work immediately and wasted no time during the time he was at my home.  He did the repairs needed and then checked the machines to be sure they worked properly before he left.  The repairman shared with me the info as to the 1 yr guarantee on the parts and 30 days for a return visit if the same problem reoccurs.  This is the 2nd time I have used this company and have always been satisfied.

On Friday, July 10th, Staats sent out there technician, Don to look at my A/C unit. Don showed up and I took him downstairs to allow him to see the unit and then outside. He checked the Freon levels and advised me that we were indeed low and that there was a possible leak somewhere. I asked if he could look for a leak and was told that it was to costly due to length of time to look for the leak. He told me that we needed a new unit and that he could put the Freon in and see if it holds. Since the temps were supposed to get bad we allowed him to put the Freon in for an agreed amount of $305.00. When he left the unit was starting to cool, but the within 5 hours our unit was blowing warm area again.

On Monday, July 13th, I called a highly recommended company to come out and see what they felt they could do. With this gentleman being in my home for less than 5 minutes and looking at not only my inside unit, but also my outside unit. He told me that it was the shreader (sp) valve and any person that looked at mine would have known it was this valve failing to pop back. He said when he took off the cap it was bubbling. He quickly went to his service truck and within 5 minutes my unit was repaired and the A/C is now working wonderfully. He also advised me that I did not  need a new unit.
On Tuesday, July 14th, I telephoned Staats and asked for a refund. I was told by there office manager, Beth that they would not grant me a refund because "they don't offer a refund on service work that has been agreed too". I was also told that their service tech, Don looked at the valve and didn't think anything was wrong with it. Looking at it and testing for a leak are two different things. This company in my opinion are horrible and I will never call them again nor recommend them to anyone. I fully believe that they are rip offs.
Response from Staats Service Today
"On Friday July 10, 2015, our tech did service this unit. He confirmed with the customer that the unit was very low on refrigerant and would require at least 4 pounds. He provided this customer with a written estimate prior to completing any work. He also instructed the customer on how to find a coupon, to at least off set a small bit of this cost. He also mentioned to her that upon adding refrigerant there were no guarantees that the unit would not leak out again. The customer agreed to the job, and signed the estimate. The tech added 4 pounds of refrigerant to the unit, upon checking the pressure levels of the unit, he removed his gauges and double checked that seal and found no bubbling or leaks that were noticeable. The unit started cooling the home, he collected his payment and continued with his route. The customer did indeed mention doing a leak check on the unit, given the experience our tech has in the field, he didn't refuse to do the leak check, but did mention that given the value and/or age of the unit she could spend quite a bit of time and money trying to locate the leak. In the customer's conversation with the office manager she mentioned that the unit had leaked out all the refrigerant within 5 hours of our service call, however she did not call our company back to allow us to comply with our 30 day call back policy. Anytime we are in a customer's home and provide a service, if the same problem occurs again, we will come back out and rediagnose the unit at no additional charge in those first 30 days. Don is not the only tech we employ in the HVAC department, and another tech could have been provided to diagnose the unit if she was insistent that he not return. She did not provide us the opportunity to check if there was a problem with the unit that we missed on our original service call. It was explained to the customer by the office manager that there is no guarantees when refrigerant is added that it would not leak out again, and refunds could not be provided. Should she have given us a the chance to take a second look, the amount she paid originally would have been taken into consideration if any additional repairs would have been necessary. We apologize for the inconvenience and frustrations this customer has experienced with dealing our company, however we would have appreciated the opportunity to correct the service when a problem reoccurred. If the other company did indeed have her unit refilled with 4 pounds or more of refrigerant and up and running within 5 minutes, and can provide us with a paid statement, the refund would be reconsidered."

Staat's did a great job. The owner personally gave me a quote and explained what he recommended and why. I had received quotes from two other companies and Staat's had the best price. They also accommodated my schedule on short notice in order to provide a cool house for a child in foster care. My air conditioner works great now!

Installation went as planned.  They were very good about making sure the tax credits were handled correctly.  They also vacuumed out the air ducts.  So far, haven't had any problems with the system.  Overall, a good experience and would use them again.

Brad the repairman said the Finish dishwashing tablets was causing the suds and foaming and was the reason the dishwasher would not pump out. Recomended we run a empty dishwasher with a citrus cleaner to help reduce sudsying and clean dishwasher. We did that and our basement flooded while dishwasher was running. I called the emergency number for Staats and the owner  Ray answered. Told him of the issue. He asked where i lived, when I told him the location, he said "OH GOD." He then said let me tell you my problem, he was on a call and his cell phone was running down. He did show up at the house and proceeded to tell us how it could not be the dishwasher. He had us run another cycle in the dishwasher to see if leaked again. I had concern since every towel I owned as in the basement and already on the wet floor. Our ceiling tiles were outside soaking wet. I told him I had concerns as he seemed to be here to do nothing but say that the appliance his repairman repaired and said was fine to run was not the cause of the flooding. First Ray was going to stay until the cycle was done running, then said he would repairman back in the morning to look at the dishwasher. 10 minutes later Ray called and said he was not going to send the repairman back. I said you are not going to repair what you were paid to do and clean up my basement? He said no he would send me my $75 back because we had not thanked him for coming out tonight. I am not sure what I was supposed to thank him about as he had done nothing but cause damage to my finished basement and not repair my dishwasher. This does not sound like a business owner to me that is worried about his customer. What a surprise when the dishwasher cycle was finished it was still full of water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dishwasher ws easily fixed by a compatent repair service. The main control board needed replaced and that is why there was pumping issues. The repair fixed all issues and we continue to use the same detergent without any issue. Hire the right repairman and all of your problems go away. Let me know if you would like a copy uploaded of the receipt where the dishwasher was repaired.
Response from Staats Service Today
"When our tech went out to diagnose the customer's problem he could not duplicate customer's complaint. Our tech did find over sudsing in the unit, but found no evidence of a leak at the time of service. The tech did run diagnostic testing, as per manufacturer suggestion. We only charged customer for trip and diagnosis, there was no repair to be done at that time. The damage must have been caused by an intermittent mechanical malfunction of the customer's unit. When we were there, both times, the system drained and did NOT leak. It is our goal to provide the best service in the industry and our track record clearly shows that. We have received back to back service awards through Angie's List alone."

My front load washer had a door lock failure. I called Staats to for service. Their repair man came three days later, looked at the washer and said he needed to order the part. Three days later he returned and installed the part. It worked for a week, then the same failure code appeared and the washer wouldn't work. The same guy came out but by that time the washer was working again so he wrote it us as not being broken. 31 days after they put in the part it failed again. This time they charged me another service call to fix what they hadn't fixed in the first place. The part was still under warranty. They refused to fix it when it first failed at one week and now I was paying them to fix it again. What a racket but I was stuck because if I called another service place they would also charge me for a new part. I was highly upset. I was more upset when the second part failed again at 35 days. I will never use Staats again. The woman I spoke to on the phone was very rude. She absolutely would not agree to send out the service man out without another service call fee. What a racket they think they can pull. DO NOT TRUST OR USE THEM.

They did a great service. The owner personally came and gave us a quote for our heating and air conditioning and took the size, measurements and made sure we got exactly what we needed because we have kids in the home, the whole home filtration was what we needed and he threw that in because his prices came in higher than the other companies but he maxed us and threw that filtration for free. He's very quick to get back to, attentive, great service, great personality and his workers cleaned up after the that so there was nothing left over. They are wiling to listen and I got the best price for the job and did it well and corrected the issues that were encountered.

They came within hours to do the job. There was nothing bad; the guy was efficient when he came in and got everything done. He first came out here and looked at the unit and then ordered a part and then came back with it; he knew exactly what to do. We called other companies and they said it would take a couple of weeks, whereas this guy was here same day. We were melting in the house and they had it up and running in one day.
