"Mirna was thorough, professional and gave me a variety of options from quick fix to get the furnace turned on to long term fix to ensure 30 years of service. My anxiety with regard to getting this resolved probably made me a bit sensitive to delays in communication of a day or so but it turned out to be worth the effort and, frankly, in the range of other service providers with whom I have dealt."

"Rob and his crew did a great job.. outside tuck pointing, crack repair, new damper, holes filled. Inside new mortar, smoke chamber fire proofed, new ceramic logs, silica, gas line. Showed us how to operate the new damper and light the fireplace. Perfect job."

"Anthony was knowledge, helpful, prompt and thorough. He converted our old fire place into a gas fireplace and provided clear information on the work needed. He was able to provide an estimate and installation in the same visit. He also gave us some general tips on our home as we’d recently moved in. I will be recommending him to any friends looking for fireplace services."

Gas Fireplace Service questions, answered by experts

Yes. Gas dryers do plug into the wall. Gas dryers require both electrical power and a gas supply to operate. The heat is generated through the gas supply, while the plug powers the electrical components that facilitate the drying process and control the dryer's functions. The electrical connection is primarily used for the dryer's electrical components, such as the control panel, motor, and lighting.

Yes, gas dryers still need electricity. While their heating system relies solely on natural gas to produce the heat that dries your clothes, gas dryers use electricity to power the lights and display screens on their interface, turn on the drum, and power any automatic moisture sensors inside the unit.

The best way to tell is if there’s a label, but there are other methods. Gas heaters will have gas lines leading to the unit, with a pilot light near the bottom of the tank (this is sometimes behind a small panel). Electric units often have lights to signal if they’re heating or not and may have electric panels to control the unit. If there is a vent pipe leading from your heater, it’s almost certainly gas-powered.

The cost of home appliances ranges from $350 to $8,000 or more, depending on the brand, type of appliance, and features. Additional cost factors include any hookups that need to be installed, such as gas, plumbing, or electrical. Keep in mind that major appliances, such as refrigerators, washers and dryers, and water heaters, will cost more than minor appliances, such as microwaves, due to the size, complexity, and essential nature of the item.

No, most homeowners don't have the skills and experience required to convert their electric stove to gas on their own. You must hire an electrician and a licensed gas plumber for the conversion. This job requires swapping out the existing 240-volt outlet for a 110-volt outlet and may also involve installing or extending an existing gas line.
