"Ismael and the team did an outstanding job replacing the floor in my rental unit. The finished floor looks beautiful, and they were professional, courteous, and respectful of my space from start to finish. I would definitely call them first for any future hardwood flooring projects."
"Danny and his staff at Modern Quality Flooring have delivered quality craftsmanship multiple times while working on floors in our home. They are always quick to deliver estimates, give reliable timelines, arrive early to complete their job, and do beautiful work. They have installed wood flooring throughout entire floors in our house, patched, sanded and stained existing hardwood, and are planning to install laminate flooring in our basement next. We trust them to guide us in all future flooring endeavors."
"Alex and Mario took on a very complicated rebuild of my floors and subfloors due to extensive water damage. The results are exceptional! I will have them back shortly to perform sanding, stain and sealing to the upstairs wood flooring to match to finish the special touches they provide - Thank you from the bottom of my heart"
"Rustic flooring took the hardwood floor at my parents house from stained, dirty and in very rough shape to looking like a brand new floor. The price was extremely inexpensive for the work they did, from the estimate to completion the timing was super fast. We appreciate the wonderful job they did to help us prepare to put the house up for sale. Thank you so much Marcel and your Rustic Flooring team! I've tried to upload before and after photos but the files are too large to upload."
"Called Mr. Carpet about two weeks ago and received a phone call back from Mary in less than 12 hours. She set up the appointment for Bob to come out and measure the various area slated for carpeting. Bob arrived on time, took his shoes off and began measuring the areas for replacement. He then showed up various samples of carpeting from three large sample books. He also broke down his estimate to exclude some areas that we thought we would hold off on replacing. We eventually decided to have all the areas re-carpeted so that the carpeting would flow from one area to the other. Got a call the day before the carpeting was to be installed telling me that Carlos and his team would be doing the work and would be at the house between 9-10am. Next morning Carlos called and told us he would be there with his team of two other workers at 8:45 which was fine with us. They came in and immediately began relocating the furniture using profession moving techniques including runners put under the china cabinets which were then moved to another area. Each guy had his own job and they worked very good together. By 11 AM they had all the padding and most of the carpeting installed except for the floating stairs that needed much more work. After laying the carpet they vacuumed all the floors and disposed of the old carpeting. I really liked working with these guys and they knew exactly what to do in every situation. "
"Chris and his team did amazing work! Our floors are beautiful and they did a wonderful job with every detail. They went out of their way to match thresholds to the new floor color and they even fixed a closet door that had been broken for some time. Above and beyond a great job and I would recommend them to everyone!"
"I recommend Superior Hardwood Floors. George did a very good job explaining our options. The crew was very professional and clearly know well their work. We are very happy with the new floors. They look great and most importantly for us is that we got rid of the squeaky noises."
"The wood floor tiles are installed nicely and they cleaned up well right after. They also provide options with according to your budget. The customer service they have provided is superb and they go above and beyond. Joe even gave me his USB cable when I ran out of juice for my phone."
Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts
You might be wondering, “Is laminate flooring toxic?” The product does contain formaldehyde, which is found in the resins used to bind the wood fibers together. But the chance of overexposure and adverse reactions, such as allergy- or asthma-like symptoms, is low unless you are exposed to formaldehyde in other places, i.e., if you work with formaldehyde regularly outside the home. Keep in mind, too, that many household products have the potential to pose a health hazard, such as cleaning products.
Carpet stretching can be a worthwhile investment to increase the lifespan of your carpet and eliminate unsightly wrinkles, ridges, and ripples. For an older carpet that is in relatively good condition aside from some wrinkling or bubbling, restretching can make it look like new and extend its life by at least a couple of years. You should consider restretching when you notice looseness or other related issues.
However, it's important to note that stretching will not fix issues like stains, wear in the pile, or discoloration. Consider replacing the carpet instead if the repair cost is more than 50% of the price of a new one. Additionally, if your carpet is past its expected lifespan of five to 15 years, or if it has been stretched multiple times already, replacement is likely a better option.
Yes. When installed properly, the strong adhesive on carpet tiles keeps them in place while also allowing homeowners the flexibility to peel up an individual tile and replace it if they need to. It’s important to keep in mind that the adhesive on your carpet tiles may take some time to cure, so it’s best to leave them alone for a couple of days after you first install them.
Ultimately, it’s a matter of personal preference. However, as a rule of thumb, lighter-colored carpets and walls will open up a room and often make it feel larger than it really is. On the other hand, darker shades tend to shrink a space, making it feel cozier. By mixing and matching light and dark colors, you can add dimension to the room.
Yes. So-called “floating” cork floors can be installed over concrete subfloor, though a polyethylene vapor barrier is required. This type of installation is achieved using the glue-down tiles, which are trickier for a DIY approach, so consider calling a professional to help you if you’re planning to install your cork floor over concrete.
