Small jobs welcome

"We hired Elias and his crew of True 45 Construction Inc. to install 7 interior doors. Elias was personable, professional, patient and answered all our questions. They did a great job of retrofitting new doors in existing door jambs which could not be removed without tearing out part of the walls. Thanh you Elias, Elliot and Franklin. True 45 Construction Inc. are fortunate to have you on their team."

"in 2010 I had windows installed along with a front entrance door with a sidebar. Withgin 2 years the paint chipped on the outside and they had to replace the whole thing. Now, just 4 years later, the paint is chipping again, and in addition to that, the window above the front entrance door is now fading due to broken seal. Not what I expected ....."

"i can't say enough about Ultimate Remodelers. James (owner) presented and delivered the best price, service and quality door i could imagine. he was not high pressure and did not try and up-sell me. The process was smooth and professional. When the installers (Dave and Andy) showed up ( a few early) to start staging their tools and material, they came and introduced themselves and explained the process and approx time to complete. Total professionals, friendly and cleaned up after they were done. I highly recommend Ultimate Remodelers, and will be working with them again for upcoming projects."

"They replaced the paneling between the floor and wall very quickly a bought the part for it. They fixed my closet doors very quickly. They initially quoted me a higher price for the closet door repair of $450. They countered down to $350 and ultimately negotiated down to $180."

Doors questions, answered by experts

A door frame is typically 2 to 2.5 inches wider than the door. This additional space accommodates the door jamb and hinges and allows for necessary installation adjustments. For example, if the door is 30 inches wide, the rough opening should be 32 to 32.5 inches wide to ensure a proper fit and smooth operation.

Most modern, standard doors are 1 ⅜-inches thick, so you should aim for this thickness unless you're building a door to replace an antique door or fit into a non-standard wall opening. Thickness varies when installing a pocket door or sliding barn door, so a good rule of thumb is to measure your existing door, if possible. For standard doors, you can also measure from the inside of the door to the door stop to gauge the proper thickness.

The most common rough opening for a sliding glass door is 60 inches to 72 inches by 80 inches. A rough opening is the unframed space where your door will go.

Yes, door hinges can sag over time. This usually happens due to things like repeated use, loose screws, worn hinge pins, or the door's weight pulling on the frame. When hinges sag, you'll often notice the door sticking, dragging, or not latching properly. Tightening the screws or replacing worn parts can usually help to realign the door.

A well-installed storm door in good condition can increase your home's value. This upgrade is more than just an aesthetic change; it adds functionality, security, and insulation that can appeal to buyers. While it may not significantly raise the sale price on its own, a storm door improves curb appeal and can help attract more potential buyers. However, a shabby or poorly maintained one could have the opposite effect.
