"HVAC machine outside wasn’t working. Ricardo ? was so good at explaining & suggesting his expert ideas. There was a mouse & nest inside the machine & wires were severed. He removed the critter & nest & repaired the wires. All is working again. What a great guy he is!!"

"I called at 2 pm that my furnace would run but blow cold air, no heat. I am disabled land no heat causes me a lot of pain. The dispatcher set appt for 3-3:30 pm. The owner Brett was here by 3:30. He found and fixed the problem by 4 pm. He explained what he had replaced. He was extremely nice. I would recommend Perfect Temp to anyone who needed HVAC work."

"Very professional and great communication. The HVAC Tech answered all my questions, and completed the cleaning and maintenance very quickly. He even took the time to build a p-trap into the drain pipe from the furnace where there hadn't been one, but it definitely should have been there. No more gurgling from the drain pipe anymore. I couldn't ask for more."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, you should turn off your AC if it’s leaking. Turning off the system prevents more condensation from leaking and reduces strain on the unit if a damaged internal component or lack of refrigerant is the cause. While this may temporarily stop the leak, water can continue to drip from a thawing coil even after the system is off. As soon as you notice a leak, turn off the unit and investigate the source or call a professional for an inspection.

Yes, running your air conditioning unit too cold can cause condensation in the air ducts and built up moisture on the air filter, resulting in a breeding ground for mold and mildew. Mold and mildew growth can irritate those with respiratory issues, so it’s best to keep your AC running at a normal temperature.

You can air condition your Arizona room by extending your home’s existing HVAC system or adding a ductless mini-split system. Arizona rooms that have full windows rather than screens only are a better choice for air conditioning—screens will let the cold air out as fast as the air conditioner can make it.

You should know the main components of an air conditioner: the condenser coils, evaporator coils, drip pan, AC filter, ducts, and refrigerant. Each part plays a key role in the performance and safety of your AC system. When tracking the source of AC issues or odors, it helps to know where to look. Your outdoor unit houses your condenser coils, fan, and compressor. Your indoor unit houses your evaporator coils, drain lines, and filter, and it connects to your ductwork.

Choosing a unit with higher BTUs can use more electricity if the BTUs are more than what’s necessary for your room size. However, choosing an AC with BTUs that match the size of your room or house, your unit will cool your space efficiently. On the flip side, choosing a system with not enough BTUs can cause the system to work harder to try to cool the space, leading to more electricity consumption and higher energy bills.
