"We called Sub-Surface late Saturday afternoon and told Nate the dilemma about our well pump (SUPER loud & running all the time) and our well tank (no pressure). He gave us an â estimateâ over the phone. After we called a few more places we decided to stick with Sub-Surface, so we called back and they were able to get us in on Monday morning (job should take 2-3 hours). Nate and Jason arrived right at 9, changed out the well tank and our well pump. Nate explained that the bladder in the tank ruptured, which is why there was little pressure and also why the pump ran all the time. Because we werenâ t sure how deep our well was, we ended up pay slightly more than what was quoted ($60 for pipe, wire and a new pressure gauge) but it was well worth it. Nate and Jason finished the work in 90 minutes and insisted on leaving their shoes outside the front door EVERY time they came in the house. Highly recommend this company!!"

"We used Joel from Illinois Sewer and Drain. Joel called me immediately after I filled out the online form and was out to my house in 2 hours. In 2 days I had his estimate, which was fair and of great value. When I told him we were going to hire him he scheduled us for the next day. Six guys were here all day and the job was done in a day and a quarter. Joel was professional, classy, friendly, fair and kind. So were the men who work for him. We were very impressed. My husband asked Joel to look at our sump pumps and a silcock that was dripping. The next day he was out and replaced 2 of our 3 sump pumps, (which were not working at all) and some piping and fixed the silcock. So, two days after he replaced our entire septic tank we had him out to replace two of our three sump pumps! So yes ! We would use him again! We are thrilled with his work and his knowledge and professionalism and will use him again for sure. We are so grateful that we found him. We called for estimates from three companies and one came out and was charging a hefty price to do and exploratory evaluation. One never called me back and he was the one we chose, He so prompt and so professional and so fair. So thankful that we found him."

"Have used them 3 times. Always quick to response and easy to work with. Once I called them on a Sunday and no advance notice. They showed up right way. When I called them for service that Sunday, there was no mention or hassle about how it is Sunday and emergency call and extra charge that and service fee that.... Solved the sewer line problem and charged me normal rate and kept me updated during the whole process."

"It was more then I expected, I thought over places charged less but they did a good job. Two guys and it took like an hour and a half. They were professional and the main guy seemed very experienced and knew what he was doing."

"It was a great deal and I'm glad we had it done. The crew did the assigned work quickly and efficiently, reporting the results to me and answering my questions about other work. They offered me an alternative for rodding the waste stacks and we are considering it. There was no heavy pressure, just good information and description. It's more expensive than what we are doing now but the technique looked interesting so I will pursue and get back to them. Even if we don't do the hydroblasting we may still use this company for the rest of our work."

Wells and Pumps questions, answered by experts

There are many potential causes of low well water pressure. The most common include sediment buildup, leaking pipes, a failing well pump, or a cracked pressure tank.

Several signs can indicate a faulty well pump pressure switch. These include your pump running continuously, the pump not turning on at all, or a sudden and complete loss of water. Other symptoms are weak water pressure or an erratic, unpredictable water flow from your fixtures. If you notice these issues, the pressure switch may be the cause. Testing the switch can help diagnose the problem. A faulty switch will likely need to be repaired or replaced. If the issue is more complex, it's best to consult a professional well technician to ensure your water supply is restored correctly.

Having a well means that a household’s water supply, including water that comes through faucets, showerheads, and appliances, is supplied through a private source rather than from a city. The well pulls fresh water from an underground water supply, such as an aquifer, and the well pump pushes the water from the well to your household.

The cost to fix low water pressure heavily depends on the cause of the problem. In some cases, all you need to do is open a valve, which won't cost you anything. However, plumbing repairs cost an average of $325, so if you have a broken pipe or other plumbing problems, you might pay something close to that figure, or more, depending on the issue.

Excessive pressure (above 80 psi) puts too much stress on plumbing pipes, joints, and fixtures. This can lead to leaks and burst pipes. Plus, it shortens the lifespan of appliances, can waste water, and can raise your utility bills. High water pressure might feel like a gift, but it’s actually a silent threat to plumbing.
