"Bryce was the technician who came to our home. He stated outright that we did not need the services that they provide. He said that in his view we had outgassing from another substance and that we do not have mold in our upstairs room. He did, however, find some damp areas in our basement and recommended a product for that. This is a highly reputable company."

"Actually, I would say "maybe" on whether or not I would rehire but you don't give that option. I was satisfied with the service overall, I didn't know what to expect and tried to be realistic. Part of the time was spent discussing several things I need done. The repair man said he could do them, a couple things would be easy and he assured me he was very experienced and could do them relatively quickly. A couple other larger jobs would require him to work up an estimate, which he said he would do in a couple days and have the manager email me. This is where they failed. It's been a week and I have not heard from the company. I'm very disappointed because I was hoping to find a reliable service to help me update my mobile home."

Home Security Systems questions, answered by experts

Yes, you should always change your locks after buying a house. Do so as soon as possible after you move in. Otherwise, you won’t know who has working keys to the property, whether they’re spare keys or otherwise. If an intruder gains access to your house with a key, it may not be covered under your homeowners insurance.

Several types of deadbolts are available, including single-cylinder, double-cylinder, rim, smart, and electronic deadbolt locks. The most common type found in U.S. homes is the single-cylinder deadbolt, which uses a key on the exterior and a thumb turn on the interior. A double-cylinder deadbolt features two locking mechanisms and requires a key to be operated from both the inside and the outside.

Leaving a light on at night probably does not deter burglars as much as we would like. While there isn’t much evidence supporting the theory that lights deter burglars, there’s not anything disproving it either. If you feel like it offers added security because a burglar thinks you’re at home, then you can set your lights to a timer so they go off and on at intervals, mimicking someone moving around inside the house at night. A better idea is to install motion sensor lights in your yard.

The average cost to install a home security system is about $750. However, the price can range from as little as $200 for a simple wireless camera setup to $2,000 for a fully monitored, hardwired system. A typical price range is $280 to $1,150. Several factors determine the final cost, including the type of system, equipment, materials, labor, activation fees, monthly surveillance fees, and permits. Optional upgrades will also add to the price, such as video surveillance monitoring ($40–$65 per month), smart locks ($150), smart lighting ($15–$90), smart smoke and carbon monoxide alarms ($35–$100), and a smart thermostat ($130–$500).

Yes, it’s possible a burglar can get through a deadbolt. Some types of deadbolts are harder for an intruder to get through, though. For example, a single-cylinder lock only requires breaking a window nearby and simply turning it. While other locks, such as a double-cylinder lock, may offer greater protection and make it harder for an intruder, no deadbolt is 100 percent effective.
