"They did an outstanding job on removing a maple tree that was encroaching on the sprinkler system control box. I hated to see a tree removed but they did an amazing job. 7 workers trimmed and cut limbs, removed the tree, used a wood chipper and ground the stump and cleaned up all leaves and sawdust. They even cut some limbs to 16inch lengths for firewood. Great crew. We are very pleased and will recommend them to our friends."

"Excellent service. Price was fair, work crew was prompt and professional. Removed large 5 trees and a couple of them were leaning badly, it was a lot of work. Very pleased with the care they took to avoid damaging the yard and other trees in the work area."

"I had a tree that was pressing on the neighbors fence and wanted to have it taken down. E & K Services LLC came out looked at the tree and gave me an estimate. I had other tree Services come.and estimate the tree project as well. The tree was not accessible by bucket to remove, E & K came up with a plan and I felt confident the tree could come down safely. E & K were timely and got the job done efficiently and safely, I would highly recommend them for tree trimming, removal, and stump grinding!"

Small jobs welcome

"It has been a long time since I went into a home project with minimum expectations and was thoroughly impressed beyond any of my possible expectations. I wanted 4 big trees removed. Tyler pointed out there were other trees that definitely needed to be removed. He didn't hesitate, he did much of his own work, but also had appropriate staff and equipment when needed. He is very knowledgeable, efficient and definitely hard working. Even my neighbor hired him to remove a very large leaning pine tree. I would highly recommend Tree Me Kindly."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Generally, homeowners do not need permission to cut down a tree on their own private property, but there are several exceptions where a permit may be required. You might need a permit if the tree is particularly large, old, or a protected species, such as a heritage tree. Trees located near public property or power lines can also be subject to special rules. Additionally, many local governments and homeowners associations (HOAs) have regulations controlling which trees can be removed to manage an area's appearance or prevent the spread of invasive species. To avoid hefty fines, it is crucial to check with your local government and HOA to determine if a permit is needed before you begin.

You can use the formula mentioned earlier to calculate the depth of tree roots. Each inch of width of a tree trunk translates to six inches of depth within the root system. Large trees extend anywhere from 2 to 6 feet into the ground, with some magnificent specimens going even deeper.

Coverage varies quite a bit by policy, but most homeowners' insurance policies will cover $500 to $1,000 of the cost of removing a tree. Additionally, if your tree causes damage to your property, like your house, many policies will cover some or all of the costs to repair the damage, depending on why the tree fell.

You should avoid cutting off the top of mature cherry trees. This process is called tree topping, and it’s not recommended for cherry trees—or any trees, for that matter. Tree topping removes between one-third to half of the length of the tree trunk, resulting in structurally unsound, fruitless suckers. The only exception is for saplings. Young pie, sour, and tart cherry trees that are over 30 inches tall in the fall or winter before the tree blooms can benefit from heading cuts.

Generally, you do not have the right to take fruit from a neighbor's tree, even if the branches overhang your property. The fruit is considered the property of the tree's owner. While you may have the right to trim branches that cross into your yard, the fruit on them typically still belongs to your neighbor. However, laws can vary by state and municipality. In some areas, branches that extend into your yard or trees that straddle a property line may entitle you to some of the fruit. The best course of action is to speak with your neighbor, as they may be happy to share. If a conversation is not possible, check your local regulations before picking any fruit.
