"Ken is very knowledgeable about fencing and always showed up on time. He did a fantastic job installing our new vinyl fence and even did a couple of extra things that were not required of him. I was very impressed. Would definitely recommend JPC Fence!!"

"Great experience start to finish. My mom had a very overgrown 1/2 acre yard in the North End that needed raking, trimming, and a huge dead bush taken out. Erika contacted me quickly, came out to see what was needed, sent a bid within a day of that visit. The crew showed up on time, with all the equipment needed to do the job. In the whole time they were there everyone on the crew was working so hard. They did an excellent job. I'll definitely hire them again!"

"Tom and Josh Turney did an amazing job for us! They removed our old cedar fence and replaced it with a beautiful new cedar fence with solid, and sturdy black steel fence posts. This fence will not only last much longer than our old fence with wooden posts but it is a beauty to look at. We will be enjoying our backyard for many years to come."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

A fence post set in concrete lasts anywhere from five to over 25 years, depending on how well the concrete was applied and the fence post’s material. Untreated wood posts in concrete could last less than 10 years, but a durable, treated wood set in properly applied concrete could last a few decades. However, all fence posts will wear out eventually, so expect to need to replace your fence post every five to 15 years.

The depth of your post hole depends on your post length. If you decide on a two-rail fence, the posts are likely 6 feet long. You want your hole to be at least 1/3 of the post length. In this case, your post hole should be two feet deep.

If you opt for a three-rail fence, the posts will typically be 7 feet long, meaning your post hole should be 28 inches deep.

Clean regularly, inspect for damage, and seal or paint wooden fences to protect against weather.

Yes, in most places. A front yard fence is allowed by local zoning laws more often than not, but it always helps to check before building just to make sure. There may be restrictions around how tall the fence can be, what it can be made from, or where it can be built.

Yes, a well-built fence can increase your home value as it improves your property’s curb appeal and also provides enhanced security. Online studies show that fences have a 50% recovery rate, meaning investing $10,000 in a new fence can potentially increase your property value by $5,000 in the end. The number may fluctuate depending on the quality, material, and design of your fence.
