We're a family-owned insulation installer offering blown-in insulation, radiant barrier insulation, attic ventilation, air sealing, and home energy audits to Ada County. After years of working in the insulation & roofing business we started Home Comfort Solutions with the mission of bringing integrity and professionalism back into contracting. We may not be the cheapest option out there, but we guarantee that we will always deliver top quality work with the best products and unbeatable customer service.

"EXCELLENT, Jacob's knowledge, thoroughness, cost, and honesty made choosing Home Comfort Solutions a slam dunk over the other Insulation companies that gave me estimates. They explained all of the job after the insulation was completed. I did not have to clean up after."

"Brian was responsive and followed through on EVERYTHING he said he was going to do. He did more than expected and was patient with us when we weren't quite ready, and kept us at the top of the stack, instead of rescheduling everything. He communicated well through the whole process and finished on schedule. They didn't leave any mess behind. Just hire them.. you'll be very pleased."

The only overhead at this point is myself, my goal is to provide quality work at an affordable price. i do not sub work out, if i cannot do the job, or the job is too big for myself, i will either pass the job up, or if I can get help I will take the job on. either way, I will be honest with you. even the smallest jobs are not frowned upon here. I believe that is a foundation you and I can grow on and do repeat, honest business together. Billing can either be by email, or mail form.

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Structural insulated panels and rigid foam boards have the highest R-value of any insulation that contractors commonly use, with R-values reaching up to around 8.0. These types of insulation are best in extremely cold climates, but they’re generally preferred for new construction, as they can be challenging to retrofit. Blown-in and loose fill insulation provide the next best insulative value, provided the installation is done properly. It’s important to choose an insulation type that meets your needs based on climate, as maximizing R-value may not always be financially worthwhile if you live in a moderate climate.

Spray foam insulation doesn’t do well around heat sources. Therefore, You can use spray foam insulation to seal around HVAC boots that penetrate through the drywalls or around where wrapped ducts connect to the boots, but we don’t recommend using spray foam insulation to encapsulate your air ducts. Spray foam insulation on air ducts is also less effective compared to duct wraps.

Insulating ducts prevent or significantly reduce condensation by reducing temperature differences between the duct surface and surrounding air. Proper insulation also minimizes sweating, improves energy efficiency, and prevents moisture damage. However, if humidity levels are unusually high or there are air leaks, additional measures like sealing ducts and using a dehumidifier may be needed.

An insulated garage door is a great long-term investment if it’s within your budget. They save energy and give the door year-round usability. In other words, the door pays for itself after a few nasty winters. Most modern garage doors already have a fair amount of insulation, so look into those options if you don’t feel comfortable splurging.

Doubling the insulation in your home also doubles the R-value of said insulation. In other words, by adding more insulation, you can reduce the heat loss by half. Most homes benefit from increasing insulation. Older homes, in particular tend to have less insulation as is, so doubling your insulation could drastically reduce your energy bills, keep your home more comfortable, and take the strain off your HVAC system.
