"I don?t know that I would trust these guys. I received a quote to replace my pump. Agreed to do everything they suggested. The day they did the work, everything went smoothly. Unfortunately the outcome wasn?t what I was hoping for - increased water production on a poor production well, but that?s not their fault. Here?s where you shouldn?t trust them. Right as the job was finished, a fourth guy showed up. He sorta fumbled around and did nothing, apparently he was their solar guy. When they were ?finished? two of the workers demanded payment, one of which was pretty rude about it. It felt odd considering the job wasn?t completed, they were supposed to come back the next day and install a bracket to support the water line. They left all my old well pump, pipe, and wires which is what I wanted. They took the pump controller that was less than a year old. Then I get the bill and it?s $600 more than I agreed to with no explanation, other than the fumbling solar guy said it took 4 guys. "

How often you need to pump your tank depends on the size of your tank and how many people live in your home. The average recommended frequency is every three to five years. However, your tank may need more or less frequent pumpings than that. After thoroughly cleaning the opening of the tank, fit the base ring over the opening and use a butyl sealant rope to create an airtight seal with the tank’s rim. Cut the riser rings to the appropriate height and stack them on the base ring. Then, install the riser lid. This task might be taken on by an experienced DIYer, but you should always call a septic tank professional if you are unsure of your skills.

The right psi for your well pressure tank depends on the tank’s pressure settings. For instance, if yours is set to 30/50 psi (which is common), the ideal psi is 2 to 3 psi below the cut-on pressure—in other words, 27 to 28 psi. However, if it’s at a higher setting of 40/60 psi, 38 psi would be the appropriate level.
