"Everything went as explained, diagramed, and promised by our System Design Specialist, Mr. Nicolas Hruska. We initially contacted just the top two Foundation Repair Experts listed on Angie's List because we can't afford to have our home repaired by anyone who lacks the proper credentials, staff, tools, training, techniques, supplies, 25 year transferrable warranty, and the hands on experience to deliver all services as promised. We are extremely pleased with the final results to take back our homes basement from poor workmanship done by the original builder and owner of our home back in 1979 We purchased the home in 2001 and unknown to us the foundation had been placed on top of clay based sub-soil which was an acceptable building practice back in 1979. Today's building codes prohibit this careless and costly practice of home site preparation for the homeowner. Resurfacing a concrete slab can be worth it if the concrete is in decent condition and has minor cracks, chips, or discoloration. If the concrete is cracked, peeling, sunken, or broken up, then replacing your concrete is probably more cost-effective in the long run and will give you a better outcome. Resurfaced concrete is only as good as the concrete underneath the new overlay material. If the concrete is peeling or cracked, the peeling and cracks are likely to show through the new surface.

You have different options depending on the scale of repair needed. If you are repairing minor cracks that are between ¼ inch to 1.5 inch wide and less than half an inch deep, a self-leveling polyurethane sealant would be your best choice. Polyurethane sealants dry to the touch within one to two hours. Since they come in a tube applier, you also have the option to complete the repair without emptying out your garage.

Concrete can crack from general wear, improper installation, or in response to uneven support from the soil underneath. Small, thin cracks on the surface of aging concrete are usually a result of normal wear and tear, while cracks on new concrete more likely indicate a problem with installation. Larger cracks or uneven steps can signify a much more severe issue. A concrete contractor should be able to diagnose the cause and repair concrete cracks for you.

Whether you resurface or replace your concrete driveway depends on the condition and age of your driveway. Concrete that's over 20 years old may need replacing, while newer concrete may benefit more from resurfacing. 

How well you maintain your concrete driveway also plays a role here. If you stay on top of sealing your driveway every three to five years, then your concrete may only have minor repairs that can be fixed compared to concrete that hasn't been sealed and has significant damage.
