"They did a great job for us! And it wasn’t an easy task as we have a living room and entryway with 2-story ceilings. They also painted our kitchen, dining room and half bath/laundry room. They repaired a couple of cracks we had in the walls. Most of it was done in 2 days. They came back on the 3rd day to touch up some spots and do some caulking. Great experience!"

Siding repair, painting exterior trim and siding as well as staining our deck and pergola were accomplished in a timely manner and most importantly- they did an excellent job. Highly, highly recommend! Our house looks brand new! Rich and his team were also so nice and very personable and easy to work with."

"I really liked him.  He did a little bit of electrical work but was more of a handyman. I wanted him to look at the lights on my deck and he kind of messed around with it for a few minutes and he got it working.  He was very good.  He charged by the hour.  Whatever you wanted done he basically just charged by the hour."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

The need for a topcoat on a painted deck depends on various factors, primarily the type of paint used and your desired level of protection. Many premium deck paint formulations are self-sealing, eliminating the necessity for an additional topcoat. These paints often have built-in additives that substantially protect against moisture, UV rays, and everyday wear and tear.

Wood stains last anywhere from two to five years, depending on exposure to the elements, your local climate, the type of stain, and the surface it’s on. For instance, vertical surfaces last longer than horizontal surfaces. Some types of woods, like dense hardwoods, will require a recoat yearly, as they are too dense for the stain to absorb. In any event, apply a recoat every 2 to 4 years. As for storage, a can of unopened stain can last up to 5 years, though results may vary.

A properly applied coat of stain will last between 3 and 8 years, depending on your climate. If you live in a place where your fence experiences a lot of moisture or high heat, your stain will last for a shorter period than in more temperate conditions. We recommend reapplying stain every 3 to 5 years to keep your wood in good condition.

Ultimately, overapplication of stain can compromise the deck's appearance, durability, and longevity. It may result in an uneven finish, with excess stain pooling, dripping, or drying into thick patches. It can also obscure the wood's natural grain and texture, detracting from the desired aesthetic. Moreover, excessive staining may not fully penetrate the wood, leading to poor adhesion and premature wear. Additionally, thick layers of stain are prone to peeling, cracking, and blistering as they struggle to bond with the surface.

Pricing depends on prep work, paint/stain choice, area size, scaffolding needs, and detailed trim inclusions like precision-balanced windowsills.
