"I live in Texas and was visiting my daughter. They needed a ceiling fan installed not replaced. Time was important. Jack from Hinokawa electric called back within 10 min. Scheduled for the next day. Thomas was amazing. He had ceiling fan wired and completed in less time than I had planned. Definitely kept them in my contact list for next time."

"I have had a huge issue for 6 issues at my rental property...Several electricians came out, and could not find it, but Isaiah did...So the issue was a crazy voltage drop on all my circuits when I ran the washing machine. It turns out that when the place was built, multiple sizes of gauge wire were used, and a thin wire created a voltage drop. I can not say thank you enough for actually figuring it out. Isaiah also dropped the bill down to half price because I'm a brokie. Thank you so much."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

The process of hiring a reliable electrician begins by searching for local professionals and verifying that they hold a master electrician certification and the proper licensing for your area. After that, you should read through reviews from past customers to see the kind of service you can expect from the contractor, as well as look at the Better Business Bureau’s (BBB) website to check for a history of company complaints. You can also ask for customer references to make sure you’re choosing a reputable professional.

A 10,000-watt generator can run a small to mid-sized central AC unit (typically up to 3 tons or 36,000 BTU) along with a few other appliances. However, larger AC units or additional loads will require a bigger generator. Consult a local generator installer to ensure you add the correct size generator to your home.

Replacing the panel itself takes four to eight hours of work by a professional. However, if associated wiring and related components also require replacement, the labor time increases to 20 to 30 hours. Your electrician can speed up the process by bringing in a team of pros to handle ancillary tasks.

Yes, it is possible to hang a chandelier without wiring, but it depends on the design of both the chandelier and your ceiling. Many homeowners use plug-in pendant lights, adhesive hook and cord pendants, or nonelectrical light sources to hang a chandelier without wiring.

This type of conversion is easy—you’ll just need to upgrade to the correct amperage in your wires before wiring the new outlet. However, these projects can be tricky without intermediate electrical knowledge, so consider consulting a pro before flipping any switches on your circuit breaker.
