"My chest freezer broke down and I did not want to buy a new one since I could not afford the same size. I reached out to appliance parts pro and they were confident that what I ordered would fix my problem. $200 in parts later and I now have a broken freezer on my porch and am still paying the loan to this terrible company. They just want you to order parts and try them because they know you can't return them. I hate this company with every fiber of my being and will make sure that anyone that has a broken appliance will not use them. To top it off, their site is so screwed up that it give you an error trying to log back in. I ended up having to create THREE different accounts because every time I went to place a new order, it would not let me login and it would not send a password reset email. DON'T GET RIPPED OFF."

"The owner of the HVAC company that we had used for 40 years retired earlier this year and highly recommended Westberry Heating and Air if we had any problems. Our 30 year old upstairs unit stopped working so we called Westberry who very quickly sent out a service technician (James) who checked the unit and informed us what needed to be done but that because of the age of the unit it was advisable to replace it. We had already had other repair work done on it so this was not unreasonable advice. We were given a quote and agreed to its terms. Just like clock work the team showed up at the appointed time and went to work. They removed the old unit and replaced it with a much more efficient one. The inside unit was located in the attic which provided little room to work. It is more like a crawl space (no room to stand) and it was a very hot day but they persevered and finished the job that afternoon. Sometimes the best laid plans go awry and there was an issue with the newly installed unit. Again James came to analyze the issue and advised that it would be rectified the next day. There was no interruption in the unit operating and continuing to cool. Again, like clockwork the owner, David Westberry, arrived the next morning and he and a team member completed the required fix, and checked the entire unit to assure that there were no other issues. The measure of a man and his company is more often proved when everything does not go exactly right and our entire experience illustrates that David and his employees possess a very high degree of truthfulness and integrity. We would not hesitate to use them again!"

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

"Tiles for the shower walls, bench, niche and curb were chipped when cut. Will, the project manager, said they would be covered when grouted. That was not true. Linear floor drain was to be removable but was grouted in. Solution was to remove grout with a box cutter that left the area around the drain look like it was gnawed instead of cut with a tool. The shower head had 3 settings 2 of them were little more than a trickle. The sink faucet was not tightened to the counter. The painter put 2 divots into my walls. If I didn't see him do it they wouldn't have repaired them. They did patch the divots but I know where they are so I see them every time I walk by. Be very careful with Rickey, the project estimator and Will. Both will tell you what you want to hear and not deliver. RNR had decent reviews but now every time I walk into the bathroom I am reminded of the shoddy work that was done. My mistake was to pay them before the job was complete. Keep a close eye on your job."

When it’s time to dispose of your old AC unit, first make sure a pro helps you recover any refrigerant left in the system, per federal law (the Clean Air Act), according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. 

Check with your city’s waste management department, or ask the retailer you purchased the new AC unit from if they take old units for recycling. Another option is to check for a Recycling Facilities Servicing partner of the EPA. These facilities are trained for proper refrigerant removal and AC unit disposal.

Most AC units, with the proper care, will last between 10 to 15 years, on average. Window units last between 8 to 10 years. You can extend the life of an AC unit by regularly replacing its filter, cleaning its coils, and scheduling an annual tuneup.

A washer and dryer must be plugged into a GFCI outlet when installed in a laundry room, utility room, garage, or basement with the required water source. These spaces require that all outlets be GFCI-protected. Elsewhere, there is no specific requirement for plugging a washer and dryer into a GFCI outlet. However, you may wish to do so for extra peace of mind.

Usually, surfaces that heat up or begin to glow when in use are traditional electric cooktops. Induction ranges only warm slightly, and often do not have an indicator that they are turned on (though some newer models have lights to mimic the glow of electric units).
