Customers say: Quick response

"I have used different cleaning services throughout the years. You can always tell when someone has had a lot of experience in a structured environment, such as a hotel or has trained others in a management position. That is just what Cleaning with a Cause sent me. She had 21 years experience and worked quickly but thoroughly, satisfying even my OCD issues that usually have me going behind the professionals touching things up. I am so happy I feel like a child on Christmas. My house is beautiful. I don't want my family to come home and mess it up. I signed up for every 2 weeks. And what reasonable prices. I swear I'm not related to the owner, I am just really 😊 happy!"

"Thunderbolt was hired to clean a rental property. Jeff ran late due to a flat tire but he was professional and informed me in advance of the situation and kept me posted of his expected arrival time. Once he arrived he got to work and did a great job on the carpet. He was quick, reasonable and very pleasant. I would use his services again in the future."

House Cleaning questions, answered by experts

In many cases, professionals can completely remove certain types of smoke damage from walls and ceilings, but it’s only possible if the damage is minor. For more extensive damage from major fires, you’ll likely need to replace the damaged materials entirely. Some items, like upholstered furniture, are much trickier to clean and might need to be replaced even if the smoke damage is minimal.

Dirty, cloudy faucets have been stained by tap water, that is "hard water." The scaly deposits you're seeing are actually signs of calcium buildup. If you have visible cloudiness on the outside, there's a high chance you have calcium buildup in your pipes that needs to be treated.

It usually takes around one hour for one person to deep clean a 100 to 200 square foot space, or between eight and 12 hours for a full home. Large construction projects may take longer, especially if your contractor didn’t do routine cleanups throughout the construction process. Your cleaning professional should be able to give you an estimate on how long they believe the job will take.

The average house cleaner cost is around $180, which should cover about four hours of work. However, each project is different and costs can range from $100 to $1,000, depending on the house size and the cleaning needed. Other cost factors can include your location and what level of cleaning you want. Standard or basic cleaning may include vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting the kitchen and bathrooms. Deep cleaning costs about twice as much and often includes cleaning behind and underneath furniture, washing windows, and polishing hard-to-clean surfaces. Emergency cleaning, extreme cleaning, and holidays also impact pricing. Move-in and move-out cleaning typically cost more, too, because of the extensive, whole-house cleaning involved.

The best cleaner to remove soot depends on the surface material and the type of fire, but consider dish soaps or degreasers, baking soda, rubbing alcohol, and hydrogen. Low-oxygen fires often leave behind greasy soot, which is best removed with dish soaps or degreasers. Baking soda can be useful for absorbing soot deposits from carpets, followed by rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide to clean the set-in stains.
