"I ordered a garage door opener from Amazon and hired Drew from Start to Finish Home Improvements, Inc. to install it. He gave me detailed info about his skills, work he has done, and a reasonable quote! Even though Amazon sent me a faulty garage door opener, Drew went far and beyond to stay and install a second garage door opener that I purchased from Home Depot so that me and my family would feel safe with a garage door that works! We will definitely call on Drew to do more small jobs and I recommend that you give him a try because he's true to his word!...Start to Finish Home Improvements, Inc.!!!...Thanks for staying and not leaving us without being able to open and close our garage door."

"I cannot recommend Thikka LLC and Ameer enough! He recently installed my fence and did an absolutely outstanding job. From start to finish, he was professional, hardworking, and detail-oriented. The fence looks fantastic, and it’s clear he takes great pride in his work. If you’re looking for someone reliable and committed to making sure you’re happy with the final result, Ameer at Thikka LLC is the one to call. I could not be happier with my fence—it’s exactly what I wanted, and then some!"

"Mr. Moore came to my home very timely as promised. He repaired the back door knob lock at the frame so it would stay lock when locked. He replaced a new door knob to my den door. I had the new door knob . I asked more questions about carpentry work to repair a broken drawer to a chest of doors I had for years. He gave me an honest answer to replace the old chest of drawers with a new one. I believe the cost of repair would not be worth the sentimental value. He said it would be costly to repair the roof of my outdoor shed because of the way it was built. I believed him and decided to keep doing what I have done about the roof of the shed. Patch my way. It's working well enough right now."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

An outlet can start a fire if it has blown a fuse, or is sparking, overheating, or smells burnt. Prevent electrical fires by unplugging the device connected to the outlet and hiring an electrician to determine and fix the outlet’s issue. If the outlet stays hot or isn't working, you should fix it.

No, a chirping smoke alarm is usually a sign of an issue with the power supply of the unit. This is easily solved by replacing the battery to stop the smoke alarm from beeping. If the chirp continues, review the owner’s manual to determine the cause. These chirps are short and not as loud as the beeping of the alarm itself. If you can’t tell the difference, it’s best to treat it like an activated alarm until you find the cause.

As with any smoking appliance, a smoking oven is a concerning fire risk. It also negatively impacts your indoor air quality, which can put vulnerable people at risk of breathing problems. A dirty oven can catch fire if you don’t stay on top of regular maintenance, so remember to check your oven for signs that it’s time for a cleaning and remove buildup every three months to stay on the safe side.

You can fireproof an existing door to some extent, but it's better to remove the old door and replace it with a fire-rated model. Anything dealing with extreme heat needs rigorous testing and a door you DIY fireproof will not undergo the same safety measures as a premade one. Consider a door with a rating of at least 30 minutes or more in residential areas.

A smoke alarm that beeps periodically, often every 30 to 60 seconds, usually indicates a low battery. The first step is to replace the battery. If this doesn't solve the problem, try resetting the alarm. However, beeping can also signal other issues, such as dust buildup in the sensors or the unit reaching the end of its life. Different beep patterns can mean different things; for example, multiple beeps might indicate an issue with a combination carbon monoxide detector, while a continuous, loud alarm means smoke has been detected. If a new battery doesn't stop the beeping, it's best to consult your alarm's manual, call a professional, or replace the unit.
