"Needed someone to restore my fire pit to operable condition. Contacted several vendors and was unable to even get anyone to come out and give me an estimate. Contacted **** at ARS. He came out, assessed the situation and we agreed on what needed to be done and a price. He was to remove and clean nearly 700 lbs of lava rocks and 300 lbs of fire glass and pressure wash fire pit. He subcontracted for a licensed plumber to clean and inspect natural gas line. **** was timely in scheduling and completing the project. I've used him before and found him to be honest, timely, and dependable. His work is detailed and professional. I've often recommended him to others and never had anyone express disapointment in his work. A major pluse for ARS is that **** will return phone calls and show up for estimates and to perform the work."

"Fabulous work by Cisco and his team! We ran into a problem that halted our installing new flooring downstairs. I feel so lucky Cisco could help right away. He’s lovely to work with! Not only is the new concrete highly stable and looks perfect, but he could easily have charged a high price due to the emergency. He did not. We hope to have him back to upgrade our driveway. Thank you, Cisco!"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

To prevent carbon monoxide poisoning on a propane heater, make sure that your heater is suitable for indoor use. When you run the heater, it should always be in a well-ventilated area with proper air circulation. Installing carbon monoxide detectors on every level of your home is also essential. If you have any questions about using a heater indoors, contact a local heating and oil company for more information.

Yes, you can close off a fireplace both temporarily and permanently with extremely wide price ranges. Temporary solutions involve fireplace plugs that can be inflated to block air and deflated to open the fireplace, covers, and boards. Permanent methods of shutting off fireplaces usually involve bricking up the fireplace or covering it with drywall. No matter the method, it’s probably best to hire a professional.

Disposable fire extinguishers are good for anywhere from 10 to 12 years, but check the documentation that accompanied your specific model to make sure. Additionally, there are rechargeable models out there that last 12 to 20 years, but they require a professional inspection every six years.

No, you should never leave a fireplace burning overnight or unattended during the day. While fireplaces are made to contain fires, fires can and do spread from fireplaces, so it’s crucial that you’re there to monitor them and put them out if needed. If you’re worried about putting out a fire before bed, stop feeding it fuel long before bedtime and actively put out the fire using your poker, a shovel, and some baking soda.

Chimneys should either be sealed or waterproofed, which is different from sealing off—closing at both ends—a chimney. Waterproofing and sealing are both crucial steps to take to prevent water damage and the chimney leaking inside the house. While waterproofing is more comprehensive, both help safeguard your chimney, extending its life span and preventing expensive repairs.
