"I have several batches of tree removal for the past years. Mora Tree Service is by far the best. The crew came, cut trees, and clean up the part of yard where tree service is rendered. I would definitely hire them again in the future."

"We received a quote that was very fair and decided to go with them, based on conversations with the owner, who arrived at our residence shortly after we requested a quote. The crew arrived the next day and did a great job of trimming our junipers and two ornamental trees. They cleaned up all the debris from shrubs and trees, and left the property spotless. We are most likely going to have several trees taken down within the next month or two, and we will again contact this company to give us another quote for this work. We highly recommend Indigo Tree Service for any type of tree or shrub trimming, and feel confident we’ll get the same professional service when it’s time to have the trees removed."

"I was initially nervous about hiring a tree removal service but I decided to take a chance and glad that I did. The team at Carias tree service is truly amazing, fast, clean and incredibly professional. I gad several trees removed to keep my pool area clean as well as some trimming of overhanging branches to ensure my gutters remain clear. The work was done efficiently and with great care. I highly recommend this company for anyone in need of tree services. Their prices are very competitive and the quality of their work is outstanding. Thank you Hugo and team for a job well done!"

"Exelent service and quality from woodchuck land management crew! They guys showed up on time and got straight to work. Being as I am in a neighborhood everything is real tight and thereâ s not much room to mulch/grind trees and brush, they crew left my property looking 100xâ s better than they found it. Would strongly recommend WLM to anyone that is wanting to add REAL value to their property."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Pruning trees during the summer can be a bad idea because the new growth will take place during the hottest months of the year, which can stress your tree out. Similarly, pruning during the early fall can be a bad idea, too, because you’d be stimulating new growth when most trees are aiming to go dormant.

Pruning recommendations will vary by the type of tree, but generally, waiting until winter to prune your trees is a good idea.

The fastest ways to remove a tree stump are by grinding it or burning it.

Stump grinding is often the quickest method, with professionals able to chip away a stump and its roots within a single session. You have the option to hire a professional stump removal service or rent a stump grinder to do it yourself. However, it's important to note that these machines can be large, difficult to transport, and dangerous to operate without prior experience. For safety reasons, hiring a local arborist or landscape specialist is often recommended.

Burning is another fast option. Before you begin, check your local burn laws. The process involves drilling holes into the stump, filling them with vegetable oil, and waiting 24 to 48 hours. Afterward, you can add charcoal bricks to the surface and light the fire, which must be attended at all times.

For a more affordable but much slower alternative, you can use potassium nitrate pellets to accelerate the natural decomposition process. This method typically takes four to six months.

If it’s your property, then you can plant a tree near power lines, but it’s not the best idea. Any vegetation that grows within 10 feet or so of power lines will fall under the responsibility of the utility company, and they may trim or remove it as necessary. If you do move forward with your plan, try to choose a smaller ornamental tree, plant it as far away from the power lines as you can, and keep it trimmed to avoid future problems.

It depends. Smaller, younger trees take longer to mature, but they're more resilient, their roots don't get as damaged during transplanting, and they recover faster. Plus, they're much more affordable to plant, and it's possible to DIY the planting.

On the other hand, mature trees produce fruit faster and provide more shade and privacy immediately. Ideally, a small or medium tree is the better choice if you can wait a few years for it to mature. But if you need immediate maturity, a larger tree is the only option.

Many species, especially when well-established, are not fans of transplantation. You’ll need to decide if you want to risk splashing the cash, understanding that transplantation isn’t always successful. Again, this is where hiring a pro is helpful, as they can give you all the essential info you need to ensure your tree stands a fighting chance.
