"A tree fell against my house and I needed it taken down before more damage occurred. I spoke with Oak Tree Service early in the afternoon and the owner, Chris, came out within the hour to assess the situation. Later that afternoon, a full crew was there in 40 degree rain, shoring up the tree to ensure that it didn't shift and do any damage to my roof. They were all back at 8 AM the next morning in 25 degrees, and expertly removed the tree before noon. The crew was fast and professional and cleaned everything up very well before they left. The price was reasonable and I would use them again."

"I have used many different tree services over the years and these guys are BY FAR the absolute best. Prices are fair for the work they perform. They left my yard looking better than when they started which was a nice bonus"

"Salomon and his team were simply incredible. I had a tree fall on the corner of my home on 2 August. Fortunately for us, it was a glancing blow and the damage done was not as tragic as it could have been: a broken window, broken chimney cap, gutter damage and some roofing materials damaged. It could have been a lot worse. I had a company come out and cut the tree away but as the days wore on, we realized that our home was surrounded by 45-60 foot tall pines and red oak trees. My wife and I decided that we should, for safety sake, think about removing some of the more close in and dangerous trees. I went on line and received 3 bids for the work. The first to arrive was Salomon . From the moment I met him, he just had such a calming personality and a professionalism that was impressive. I related that to my wife and we both agreed that we should still get the other quotes. The other companies came in the following days and by the end of the week, our choice was obvious. While the pricing estimates were all very close, it was still my gut instinct that we should go with Mora's Tree Service. Today was the day. And we couldn't be happier with the work and the outcome. The team arrived on time and six trees were removed and mulch made from the tops and smaller branches. The large trunk portions were placed in the truck to be hauled away and the mounds of mulch were spread out using the bobcat. The place looks amazing and the work the team did was simply great. They took considerable care to insure that the cat tracks and the chipper tires did not chew up the side yard. ply panels were laid down to prevent damage. The work was quick, precise, safety driven, and complete. When I look at the end result, since I know what was the "before", I can appreciate the "after". But for someone who has never seen my yard, it might be generally thought that I just had some mulch laid in, not major tree removal. Mora's Tree Service will be my go -to service from this point forward. The personable and professional service provided is the winning hand. I cannot recommend them enough."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

A chainsaw is the best tool to cut down a tree, but you may also use a handsaw or ax. You may also want to use a lopper or pole saw to remove limbs before cutting down the tree. Wear chainsaw chaps and protective gear, including eyewear and earplugs if you use a chainsaw. Again, if you’re unsure about how to use this tool, this project may be one to skip.

Costs depend on tree height, trunk diameter, removal complexity, and required equipment.

To maintain trees on a commercial property, perform regular pruning, monitor for diseases, and apply fertilization to promote healthy growth. It is also important to remove any hazardous branches to keep the trees healthy and prevent potential liability issues.

Pruning trees during the summer can be a bad idea because the new growth will take place during the hottest months of the year, which can stress your tree out. Similarly, pruning during the early fall can be a bad idea, too, because you’d be stimulating new growth when most trees are aiming to go dormant.

Pruning recommendations will vary by the type of tree, but generally, waiting until winter to prune your trees is a good idea.

Generally speaking, you’ll want to avoid flush cuts, which are cuts made as extremely close to the trunk or main branch. These cuts can weaken your tree, lower its natural defense mechanisms, and even cause decay. You’ll also want to avoid tree topping, which is the total removal of the leader and upper main branches of a tree.

Most pros will advise against either of these methods, which is why hiring a pro is often the best choice when it comes to tree trimming.
