Cheap and Great Tree Service Review. We recently hired Cheap and Great Tree Service to remove a dozen large trees and grind the stumps. The experience was deeply disappointing, primarily due to the supervisor?s behavior. The supervisor was exceptionally rude, abrasive, and, at the end of the job, verbally aggressive, using profanities when addressing concerns. His lack of professionalism and basic human decency made the entire process unpleasant. Communication was also poor?he provided no schedule, and the crew arrived randomly, yet he demanded immediate full payment upon completion. The all-Hispanic crew, however, was hardworking and polite, though communication was challenging due to limited English (I used Google Translate). The job itself had issues: fallen trees damaged our lawn, which I repaired myself, and a broken fence was inadequately fixed after multiple attempts. The supervisor?s monstrous behavior make it impossible to recommend hiring Cheap and Great Tree Service.

I hired Cheap & Great Tree Services to remove some trees in the back of my house. I thought I was getting a great price for having some small trees removed, a larger tree that was across our creek and some debris removed. I will say that the crew that was here were some of the hardest working men I have ever seen! While doing the work, a smaller tree that was dead must have been knocked and fell over back across the creek. Since my original plan was to remove the tree from the creek, I called to ask the price for now moving this smaller tree. I was told by Jonathon that the price would be $1600 (keep in mind this tree was not even ½ the size of the original). That is 2/3rds the price of the entire job. It seems to me they would try to do the right thing without looking to increase the job by 73% for a situation that occurred while they were working on my property.

Did not get proper permits and they don't have anyone who has a valid license so I had to accept the citations and now I have to go to court. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The city arborist said multiple properties have received citations due to this company.

They did a fabulous job! Fast and cleaned up after the job! Nothing than good things to say. Scheduling was a bit of an issue but once they came out, again a great job. We had 4 big trees removed

Had 6 trees removed and they did a good job with the trees but we also contracted stump grinding and they ground them to top of ground and left and I called them back to finish grinding and they near called me back or answered after that and had to hire another company to finish so we could plant grass

Horrible experience, would not recommend. Firstly, the guy who did my quote was not present when service was done so it was inadequate. The representative on the phone was beyond rude. Lastly, they left stains on my neighbors sidewalk where their trucks were parked and refuse to comeback to remove. After paying over 1k for inadequate tree removal I was told to pay someone 150$ or more to have it pressure washed, " if it's that important". Nightmare company, buyer BEWARE!!!

Did not finish their work and stopped responding to my calls and text messages after I paid them in full. How do you scam a grandma? Not to mention heavy equipment ruining her grass and flower garden. Workers barely spoke English. I would not recommend them to anyone and have told everyone I know not to use their services.

received flyer in my mailbox and called for an estimate return call and made an appointment to come out in 30 minutes which they did so were timely. Estimate to remove five Leland cypress trees was fair since I already had some removed due to hurricane Helene damage so knew ballpark figure. Came out three days later with a crew of four and 45 minutes later they were finished and my yard did not look any different, they cleaned up all debris. Very impressed.

We used them to remove trees from our yard, and they did an excellent job for us. They came out, and gave us an outstanding estimate for the work. They came out the following week, took down the trees, cleaned up the debris and came back a couple days later and ground the stumps just as they said they would. They were fast and very efficient in their work. We would definitely recommend them to anyone, and would use them again if needed,

THEY DID NOT FINISH THE JOB!! I HAVE THE PAPERWORK EVEN IN WRITING AND THEY DID NOT HONOR THE PAPERWORK. I CALLED EVERY DAY SINCE 1-17-2025 WHEN THE FIRST PART WAS DONE EVEN THE FIRST PART OF CLEARING DEBRIS OFF THE BACK LOT WAS NOT DONE SATISFACTORILY. THEY TRIED TO GET A CHECK BEFORE THE JOB WAS EEVEN COMPLETE. THYE CREW LEFT AND ONE GUY TO FINISH UP DID NOT CLEAN UP THE DEBRIS AS WAS PROMISED. THEY SHOW UP WITHOUT WARNING AND NO ONE SPEAKS ENGLISH EITHER. THE STUMPS WERE LEFT AND THAT WAS PART OF THE WRITTEN AGREEMENT TO COMPETE. THEY DID NOT FOLLOW UP OR COME BACK TO FINISH JONATHAN IS THE ONE I SPOKE TO HE APPARENTLY IS IN CHARGE HE WONT COME BACK IF THE JOB IS NOT ENOUGH MONEY FOR HIM HE WAS PAID $2,650 THE FIRST ROUND AND IT WAS NOT COMPLETED PROPERLY THE SECOND PART WAS $350 TO GRIND STUMPS NOW HE CANT BE BOTHERED HE ANSERS THE PHONE BUT DISCONNECTS YOU WHEN HE FINDS OUT WHO IT IS CALLING AND THEN DOES NOT RESPOND TO TEXT MASSAGES OR FUTURE CALLS.

I suggest anyone doing business with Cheap&Great Tree Service get it recorded on video because whatever you requested for the quote versus what they support after the deposit are two completely different versions. In my case, I need to hire another Tree Service vendor to complete the job. When I ask for a quote to remove tree limbs and trees that cross an imaginary boundary line from a neighboring tree and significant work remains that is a problem. In the game they'll play the "guy" who gave the quote speaks a foreign language and so do the crew, and as they progressed, I had to keep telling them to down the tree or tree limb, but they said I needed to speak to the "guy". This went on repeatedly. It's absurd, it's laughable, but it's not a joke. Look, when the "guy" drops the price (repeatedly) to get your business I encourage you to ignore these promises because this kind of "guy" will NOT keep it.

Oscar came out for a quote and we agreed Ed and shook hands on tree removal and stump grinding. They removed trees on 2/18 and did good but did not do stumps. I text him and said that they needed to be hete be fore 2/21 because fence repair guy would be here on 2/22 and he said yes they would. It rained on 2/20 until 12pm and stump guy was here around 3pm. Back yard was wet and muddy and we did not want all that mud on driveway so I told him to come back on 2/21. On 2/21 I text the company 5 times and called with no response Do not use this company, not honest and are liers. Very very poor service

The company didn't give me a veteran discount, pushed the debris into a shared creek owned between my neighbors and I, didn't clean up my yard, left trash throughout my yard, and didn't remove the stumps as agreed. There's no particular person in charge on site. I called the main office several times to complain about them tearing up my yard, breaking my basketball rim, and asked that someone come out immediately that I can speak with and guess what....no one ever came. DO NOT USE THE COMPANY WITHOUT ENSURING EVERYTHING YOU NEED COMPLETED IS IN WRITING, DON'T ACCEPT ANY VERBAL PROMISES, AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE NAME AND NUMBER OF THE PERSON IN CHARGE.

Prompt and quality work done in a timely manner. The only short coming was the workers didn't speak much English. We were still able to get the job done to my satisfaction.

These guys need to change their name to Cheap, Great & Fast! This is the second job they have done for me. Received an in person quote and the job was complete the same day!

Very fast, very efficient and yes very cheap! Quotes from many other tree companies wanted twice as much and weeks out before they could do the work. Cheap and Great from the time of quote to time of tree removal was 3 days! Thank you Cheap and Great!

Not recommended. They did the work not the scheduled day without any notification. Poor customer service and bad attitude.

I needed 10 trees removed from around my home on my cattle ranch. The crew hit power lines and shifted the power pole to the point where I needed the power company to come out and straighten it. Now I have to pay for an electrician reconnect power to my neighbor as it broke the piping into her home. When i told DANIEL the boss .he accused me of lying! Also they busted my barbed wire fence to the ground and i told him that and he said it was an “EASY “ fix for me. It got to the point where he was so rude on the call that I asked him to come here and speak to me in that tone in person. He told me “ it wouldn’t be healthy for me if he did! ANYWAY… DONT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!

We called Cheap and Great Trees to remove 4 trees diseased by pine beetles. We were quoted $5800 but that was quickly reduced to 3500 on the condition that we start same day as a crew was nearby. We hesitated to make such a snappy decision, but knew this was a good quote. We agreed and paid the deposit but they didn't show that day. I had to call to get an update on the status. They did show bright and early the next day. The only thing I asked, based on past experience with tree cutting, was that they not cut branches from other trees. Instead, they completely cut down 4 additional trees WITHOUT informing us of the need to do so. That’s 4 unmarked and healthy trees. When I told the sales person about it, he asked ME why did they do that? Unbelievable. I asked what we could do to remedy this and got no response in 2 weeks. They did a good job cutting the trees, but the experience of interacting with them felt a bit unethical and not willing to recommend them.
