"I couldn’t be happier with how my basement remodel turned out! From start to finish, the team was professional, communicative, and incredibly detail-oriented. They helped transform what used to be an ok man cave to a custom at home personal sports bar!! The craftsmanship is top-notch —lighting, and trim work are all flawless. They also stayed right on schedule and within budget, which is rare these days. I especially appreciated how they communicated and was not thrown off by the ongoing questions and changes that was thrown at them. Now we have a beautiful new living area that’s perfect for family gatherings and guests. I’d absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking to remodel their basement or any part of their home. Outstanding work! We will be giving them a call in a few months to remodel our master bathroom. Great guys not only as contractors but in general also made new friends!!!"

"The Falcon Brothers are beyond a dream from the past!!! They are so talented ,respectful and most of all totally honest!!!! They were part of a team that did a remodel on our home. Whenever there was a need for a talented member,Alex Falcon was the one called on!!! We saw him go from electrical, to repair to dry wall, to caulking / dry wall issues, lights m, electrical, and so much more. My husband and I cannot say enough awesome things about the talent, integrity and commitment of these two young men to complete your job on time, on budget and with every ounce of their being to make you, the customer completely satisfied. "It was incredible. Tony and team handled everything I needed done and did it with professionalism. He is exceptional at doing it right and repaired some work done by other bad contractors. There was always great communication and clear explanation of alternative solutions as well as ways that might save in cost. The overall cost was great and less than competitors that weren’t nearly as good in quality. He is my go-to handyman and I highly recommend to others."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

A designer is a great choice for remodeling projects that don’t require significant structural work. For remodeling that includes structural work like removing load-bearing walls, altering exterior walls, or adding on a room, an architect can design and execute the renovations while ensuring your home remains structurally sound.

Framing is often the most expensive phase of building a house because it’s time-consuming and requires a lot of materials. It costs between $20,000 and $50,000 on average, depending on materials and labor costs. Before construction begins, it’s possible that purchasing land is the priciest step in the process. Some plots of land sell for $3,000, while others cost upwards of $150,000.

The longest part of building a custom home is the design phase. It takes multiple professionals and a ton of work to bring your vision for your dream home to life while sticking to a homebuilding budget and also ensuring everything is built to code. Expect the design phase for a custom home build to take six months to a year.

While you will always work with a team of professionals at some point during your home build, homeowners with experience can take on some part of the process. Manage the initial brainstorm, brief writeup, and floor layout phase with minimal assistance before contacting a general contractor. And while you can purchase stock blueprints for some home designs, it's always best to speak with professionals when choosing one ideal for your property.

Costs depend on project complexity, software requirements, and the draftsperson’s experience.
