"One time, professional, competent, and reasonably priced for services rendered. Cost was approximately 1/8th of what the only other company to show up quoted (they refused to do any work without a “mandatory”complete panel upgrade). Thanks!"

"Absolute AMAZING service! My electricity was out when I arrived home after work at Midnight and the breaker box was hot..I requested quotes online because it is midnight and thought I would have to deal until morning but my phone rang and Jon was willing to come out then because I had no electricity...it ended up being the cable wire attached to my home but he waited 3 hours for LCEC to arrive to make sure my electricity was back on and working!! Talk about Excellent service! I highly recommend this company and will use then for all my electrical needs..Thank you sooooo much!"

"What a fabulous company! Always showed up when promised, always answered our many calls, polite, courteous & extremely professional both William, the owner and his workers. Installed our generator along with lights in our outdoor soffits without any problems whatsoever. We would absolutely recommend Always On and will continue to use them for any electrical needs we may incur. I just can't say enough about how extremely pleased both myself & my husband are-so happy we hired them!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

People who have experienced blown fuse have occasionally tried to fix the problem by placing copper pennies in the fuse box. While they are good conductors of electricity and can seemingly “fix” the issue,  they don’t protect against short circuits or fires. Putting pennies in a fuse box is dangerous—the best solution is to call a professional electrician to fix the problem.

GFCI outlets generally need to be replaced every 7 to 15 years, though some may fail in as little as 5 years, depending on usage. It is important to test them regularly. Signs that a GFCI outlet is failing or has reached the end of its lifespan include: no power coming from the outlet, the outlet not resetting when the 'reset' button is pressed, or the outlet not tripping when the 'test' button is pressed. If you notice any of these issues, it is time to replace the outlet, and it's best to contact an electrician to do so.

The standard voltage for United States power outlets isn’t shared around the world, and neither is the shape of the power connector. This is why you need travel adapters when spending time abroad. Where the United States typically uses 110/120V outlets, outlets in Europe typically use 220/240V. Power outlets can vary in other ways around the world, too. Not everyone uses the 60Hz frequency, for example, and not everyone even uses AC power in outlets. Always do your research when traveling to see what you need.

When removing an old security alarm system, you likely won't need to remove any of the wiring. Wiring can either be left in place for a replacement system or capped off for safety and pushed into the wall. If you're uncomfortable with the wiring, or if it's badly damaged, contact a professional electrician for assistance with safe removal.

The cost to install or replace a circuit breaker depends on the price of the unit itself and the complexity of the installation. A new circuit breaker typically costs between $10 and $100, with standard breakers being the most affordable and GFCI or AFCI types costing more. If you are upgrading to a higher amperage, a 200-amp circuit breaker can cost between $250 and $350. The average total cost for professional installation is around $700, but this price varies. A simple replacement into existing wiring will cost less than a more complex project that requires opening walls, running new wires, and securing permits.
