"Romain?s Plumbing & Drain Service is the absolute best plumbing & drain company in South Florida. Romain is honest, professional, and takes exceptional care in his work to permanently fix all your plumbing and drainage issues. He is very fair with his prices and he takes pride in his work with high quality repairs. I had a water leak that left me without running water in my house for 2 weeks because of a very bad experience with a different plumbing company. When I first contacted Romain he squeezed me into his schedule that same day so that I would have running water again. He repaired both leaks, replaced the drywall, changed out the water valves, and installed a new vanity. I can?t thank Romain enough for their hard work in fixing the leak and getting everything back up and running and replaced so quickly and skillfully. I wish I had an electrician and hvac repairman like Romain because he was so exceptional in his work. If you ever need a plumber please contact Romain!"

Small jobs welcome

"Tenants in our building got a quote from a plumber to do some work. I called Empire Plumbing to get a second opinion, they had never heard of this process. They came out to access the situation, they used a camera and mapped out our plumbing lines. After diagnosing the issue, they did the work for less than 1/2 what was quoted by the other company. More importantly, they gained my trust in answering the questions and demonstrating clear knowledge rather then trying to "sell" me on something. I highly recommend the team at Empire Plumbing"

"On a Friday morning at 6:30 am a pipe burst in our laundry room sending water everywhere. This plumber call us at 7 am and said he could be there at 8 am to provide an estimate. We got an estimate and then a second to compare the cost. He insisted on using copper pipes while the second offer CPVC. We went with him and he completed the work the same day. And they left the place cleaner than they found it. I would use him again."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

No, they are two different things. Some tanks have a pressure relief valve built in. The purpose of this valve is to prevent the rupturing of the water heater due to pressure generated during the heating process. An expansion tank redirects water from the heater tank to relieve pressure so while they have the same purpose—alleviating pressure—the expansion tank is the only item actually redirecting water.

It is generally safe to stay in a house that smells like sewage for a short time, but you should get the problem fixed as soon as possible. While the level of sewer gas is usually low enough to only cause minor symptoms, prolonged inhalation can lead to headaches, nausea, or respiratory irritation. High levels of gas exposure can be more dangerous, and high concentrations of methane—a component of sewer gas—can pose an explosion risk in enclosed spaces. If you smell sewer gas in your home, ventilate the area and call a professional to locate, assess, and fix the problem, as it will not go away on its own.

To help your plumber understand your situation quickly and help facilitate your repair, you should be ready with your name, address, whether the plumbing problem is an emergency, whether you tried to fix the problem yourself and the steps you took, and your availability for the plumber to pay a visit.

No, you don’t need plumbing experience to install a faucet, but it can certainly help. As long as you have the right tools and materials, kitchen faucet installation is a manageable DIY project for people with the skills and patience to complete it.

Because well water is not artificially filtered or pre-treated, it may contain contaminants. As a result, it’s possible for well water to damage pipes based on what is in the water. Well water can be corrosive, slowly rusting and dissolving pipes, fixtures, and fittings. The corrosion can affect the taste and quality of the drinking water that comes out of the taps in your home.
