"They were very good. I really wanted my chimney inspected because of the hurricanes and wanted to make sure it was safe to use. They came out and inspected everything and told me it was safe to use."

"Overall great experience. We noticed their lower cost monitoring systems are vulnerable to smash and grab robberies but the middle and upper range packages are protected from this. We also have had a few bugs with the broken glass detector but overall the sytem appears to be a great value.

"I had Mike out here to do a chimney sweep and inspection and he was amazing! He was very kind and had a lot of knowledge on chimneys. When the day came to do the repair he got here on time unlike most companies, and did an outstanding job with my chimney repairs. I couldn’t be more happy with Mike, the company, and the amazing chimney I know get to burn in safely!"

"Hunter was very knowledgeable, courteous, and most of all professional. He worked with me to get my appointment scheduled although his schedule was booked. He continued to communicate with me about the possible issues/causes of my chimney problem so that he would be prepared with the right equipment and parts on arrival. He arrived when he said he would and completed the job to my satisfaction. He went above and beyond what I expected. I would definitely use him again for any chimney issues I have. I will also recommend him to my neighbors who may also have issues with their chimneys. I was impressed with his workmanship."

Chimney Inspection questions, answered by experts

Regular cleaning, inspecting for peeling or rust, and reapplying coatings every 8-12 years helps maintain durability.

You can tell if you have ridge vents by looking at the roof’s peak from outside. A ridge vent will look like a speed bump or slight rise away from the roof’s surface and will likely be covered in the same material as the rest of the roof. You can also tell from inside your attic—look up at the roof ridge to see if there is light coming through along the length of the ridge.

If you’ve had a recent weather event or any other issue that caused roof damage, there’s a chance your caps are damaged also, and it’s worth having an inspection done to see if you need roof ridge replacement or repair. You should also keep an eye out for caps that are visibly deteriorating or curling. Here are more signs to look out for:

  • Cracks or gaps

  • Discoloration

  • Water stains on the ceiling or walls inside

  • Missing shingles

If you have a vented roof ridge, you may also need repair or replacement if you have sudden issues with indoor humidity.

Whether you should repair or replace your roof boils down to the scope of the damage. If you need to replace more than 20% or 30% of your roof, then it’s probably a good idea to just replace the entire roof, as leaving older sections up can leave parts of your roof open to more issues. By replacing your roof, you can have peace of mind that no pesky leaks are sneaking into your home.

Pea-sized hail can damage a roof if it experiences hailstorms often, as it slowly causes cracks and deterioration to your shingles. Usually, one hailstorm with pea-sized hail won’t damage your roof, but if you see other damage to your car, grill, and other property, it may be worthwhile to get in touch with your insurance company and have a local roofer come out for an inspection.
