"We have had a number of problems, the customer service is very nice. You install your stuff, and they send you sticky tapes to stick stuff up with, and the first time we put the smoke detecter up, it fell. I was having a migraine, and the fire alarm was going off, our front point alarm was going off because the smoke detector was going off. I was having a migraine and couldn't do anything, so I told my husband to do something, and when you call the customer service, it say press this button, and press this button, and he finally put a hammer to it to stop it. They sent us another one. A couple months later, I was home, and we were getting ready to go away for 2 weeks, and I heard this big crash, it fell again. The alarm went off, the thing was going off, and I opened it, and removed the battery. They called me on my cell phone to find out if everything was okay, but I couldn't hear it with 2 alarms going off. I finally smashed it, and got the battery out, and pressed the right button, to get the alarm to stop. During all this, they called my husband because they couldn't get a hold of me, and he was out of town. They told him that the smoke alarm was going off, and there was nobody home, so if they should call the fire department. So he said yes, and the firemen came. Thank goodness I was home, because if I wasn't they would have broken down my 1500 Dollar glass door. I wasn't real happy with them. We have 2 back doors, but we have locked them and put sandbags against them because we have flooding problems. We did put stickers and the alarm kept going off on these doors, but the door does not happen. We have had 12 incidences where we have had to call them. They have had to send things twice, we have had to have somebody to come out. It is frustrating when the alarm keeps going off, and you call and they are closed. The only way to get anyone to notice, is when the alarm goes off and then they call. They never advertise how it works for you. Their price is comparable, but I know that other companies keep you on a contract, but Front Point doesn't, so we just pay them month to month. They have been good about getting back to us."

Chimney Inspection questions, answered by experts

Hail damage on a tile roof looks like chips, cracks, and dents. Some roof tiles may break off entirely in harsh hailstorms. Hail can cause tile shingles to shift and loosen, leading to less protection from water and the elements. Loose tiles can also pose a safety risk to people, pets, and property below.

Slate roof repairs involve risks like slipping while working on heights, needing expertise, and correct methods to avoid further damage to materials.

EPDM roofing has exceptional waterproof capabilities, so water pooling on an EPDM roof typically isn't an issue in terms of leaking. However, water should not sit on the roof for more than 48 hours, as it can become a significant problem that requires immediate attention. To reduce the risk of damage, any EPDM roof should have a proper drainage system. If you notice ongoing issues with water pooling, you should call a roofing professional to check for underlying problems like a clogged roof drain or structural shifting.

The average cost for a residential roof inspection is typically between $150 and $500, with some homeowners paying as much as $1,000 or more. The national average is around $225. Key factors that influence the final price include the roof's size and complexity, its accessibility (a high pitch can increase cost due to risk), and the roofing material, as specialty types like slate may require a specialist. Other variables are your geographic location, the inspector's expertise, and the specific services included in the inspection. To get an accurate estimate, it is best to obtain quotes from several reputable roofing professionals in your area.

You can secure roof decorations like inflatables and other Christmas decor by tying a rope or attacking bungee cords to your roof clips. Depending on the pitch of your roof, you can use sandbags for extra support. Like with Christmas lights, avoid using staples or duct tape.
