"We were having a washout situation under our Florida room slab and the Alpha team of Junior, Dalin and Zach arrived on time, reviewed the situation and their solutions and proceeded with their poly foam injection system through our floor slab to fill and stabilize the washed out areas below. After completion, they cleaned up the work area requiring no additional work on our end. We appreciated their efficiency and professionalism throughout the entire process. Great team and company."

"I couldn’t have been more pleased with the quality of the work and the communication established with this father-son team. They gave me a clear estimate, agreed that I could easily move down from an 80 gallon tank to a 50 gallon tank to save some money, and all the work was performed with the highest level of professionalism. I will definitely use this company again for any and all plumbing needs that I will have in the future."

"We had water leaking from  the baseboard in the room on the other side of our guest bathroom wall. We knew it was from the tub/shower and were very worried because there was no access to the plumbing in the wall in this house that was built in the late 80's. I called Abaco Plumbing because of the reviews I read on Angie's list and I am very happy that I did. Boyce the owner answered and arranged to have James come out and take a look right away.
James arrived and was a very knowledgeable plumber however he said that he needed access to the plumbing and suggested that I call another contractor who could cut a hole in the tile wall of my shower. He gave me the contact information for a tile contractor that he works with often in these types of situations. James said that he and the tile contractor would co-ordinate the work and they did!
Once the plumbing inside the wall was exposed James came back and very efficiently replaced the plumbing as well as the shower head, wall plate and faucet to the tub with very nice Moen fixtures and high quality copper pipes in the wall. I was pretty surprised when he said it was all less than $300.00.
James also told me how to replace my filter in my refrigerator as the ice machine had stopped working and he was right on. We now have our shower working again AND ice in our drinks. The tile man did a GREAT job too and very reasonable also.

French Drains questions, answered by experts

While there is no specific “best” method to clear hair out of a drain, several options work well. Using a combination of baking soda and vinegar to dissolve the hair clog is a great and easy way to help clear the drain. Drain snakes are also effective for more severe clog buildups.

Flushing the toilet only to realize it’s clogged can cause anxiety. To avoid a clogged toilet, use less toilet paper. If you notice that the toilet is flushing and refilling slower than usual, you can use a plunger to clear clogs in the S-trap. If that doesn’t work, call a plumber to check your system and possibly clear the drain lines.

You should hire a sewer service professional to unclog a main sewer line with tree roots. Tree roots can grow into the main sewer line, and this problem requires a specialized hydro jet, or rooter, that is powerful enough to clear the roots. The tree can also damage the main sewer line, and a professional will need to make repairs or replace the damaged sections. Sewer line replacement costs about $60 to $250 per linear foot.

If you’re not using a septic system, problems with your home’s plumbing won’t cause this—it’s a city problem. A large blockage in the municipal sewage lines may cause those lines to back up into your home. This is extremely unpleasant and can be a serious health risk due to bacteria and other contaminants. If this occurs, call a pro (or your city) immediately.

As with many appliances, proper maintenance is key to maximizing your garbage disposal’s life span. If everyone in your household is on board with proper care and maintenance, like running water while operating the disposal, you should get plenty of years out of your unit. Avoid putting the wrong food items down the disposal, including pasta, rice, bread, and more.
