"We are extremely pleased with the completed project.  All the workmen were efficient, polite, and conscientious about doing the job RIGHT!
In addition, David did several little things that were not in our contract to make the changes more aesthetically pleasing.
The doors are a nice upgrade to our home, and make the rooms seem a lot larger!
We got bids from 3 contractors.  David Meyers Builders, Inc., was not the least expensive bid, but as the old adage goes, "You get what you pay for!""

"It went very well. Samuel responded promptly to call as he appeared ready to take the job on asap. This was after he found loose screws that apparently were not long enough to remain attached to the wood below the metal roof. Screws in many instances would just spin in the hole and would not attach and secure. This was a previous job by Malone Roofing who was paid to remove every screw and replace with new screws with grommet seal and silicone caulk where needed. Video evidence showed this findings. He finished the job completely by 3 days, which means a lot when rains are taking place. GAF coating x 2 coats was done completely sealing the roof. 5 year warranty for the roof and 10 years warranty on the GAF coating, which was used on the Super Dome in New Orleans. Other roofers just wanted to replace the roof, not repair the roof which is metal and is still in good shape."

"Absolutely wonderful! Steve and Stacy are so detailed and literally left no mistakes and fixed painting mistakes made by previous contractors. Reached very high and hard to reach places and it looks perfect and brand new! Already scheduling to use again and will only use them in future. HIGHLY recommend."

"Amazing job performed by Dave's roofing team with outstanding craftsmanship! We had a 16-year old, leaking shingle roof replaced with ribbed, 26 gauge steel panels. His workers arrived at our home every morning at dawn and worked throughout the day to sunset. They brought all the necessary supplies, their own waste dumpster, and cleaned up around our house every day. On the first day, they stripped off the old roof top; replaced damaged wood as needed, then applied high-quality, Polystick TU-PLUS covering to all exposed wood. Once the steel roofing panels arrived, the crew went to work performing excellent metal craftsmanship for the next 8 days. There was no required deposit before commencing work, we just settled everything a week after the work was completed. David took full care of the required permits and inspections. He also provided us with wind mitigation documentation and aerial photos. His entire crew performed professionally, courteously and are such hard workers. We are very impressed and our neighbors are also impressed. Out of the many contractors we have worked with over the years, David Keefe is clearly one of the best contracting experiences we have ever had the honor and privilege to work with."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Learning how to frame a house includes picking the right lumber for the job. Most people will want to pick pine, spruce, or fir for the framing. These types of lumber are affordable and produce sturdy framing for structures. Look for kiln-dried lumber to reduce the risk of shrinkage or insect damage after installation. As part of what’s included in framing a house when you hire a professional, the contractor should order the lumber, so you don’t have to worry about finding the right lumber.

Most of the time, you’ll want to use screws on your subfloor rather than nails. Nails can actually weaken plywood, whereas screws can easily penetrate without damage. They also form a more secure connection because of their shape, preventing squeaky floors and tightly holding the subfloor in place. That said, some contractors do prefer nails depending on the type of floor covering because they allow for more flexibility.

Accurate measurements, sturdy materials, and seamless integration with other structures.

Yes, professionals can install new frames, trim, and threshold adjustments for a complete finish.

Not all porch columns are load-bearing, though they can be. Some porch columns are simply decorative. There are ways to identify a load-bearing column, like looking for visible seams and a foundation. Also, check to see if the column directly enters the ground. In some porch installations, a contractor will excavate a hole to install a column into the earth along with a buried cement base for stability.
