"John Murphy and his crew are awesome! They gave us a quick quote with a fair price and were able to install the fence quickly and perfectly as soon as the permit was approved. They took care of all the permit paperwork and were super responsive the entire time. The fence itself looks amazing. Very detailed and careful work! Super skilled and knowledgeable crew. I would gladly recommend them to anyone needing a fence. We are very glad we chose them for our fence project."

"Gino Davis and his team built an excellent fence built to pool code that was so well done they got not only compliments but more clients. He and his team were very quick to respond to any little adjustments needed and did a lightening quick repair on some damage incurred by a neighbor’s workman. This resulted in our hiring them once again for our fence in the front. They were quick to respond to any communication even when we were not on the property and we were very satisfied with the quality of their work. We can recommend them to anyone who wants a fence done right. They do stand by their name."

"

Cost estimate was the lowest I received.  They communicated well throughout the process. Called me when questions arose during install to make sure we were on the same page. The fence is good quality and install looks very good. We are happy with our experience with Fencing South Florida and highly recommend them.

"It went well! Sebastian Proto oversaw the entire project and had to get a little creative when it came to getting the side fence down and onto the sea wall. It looks amazing, now I can’t wait to get a landscaper in to bring it all together. He and his crew, Jason, Arturo and Manuel were very professional, personable and had to put up with my rambunctious 2 year old puppy! They were very conscientious making sure gates were closed etc. I think they enjoyed him as much as he enjoyed having them around - he misses them. The quality of the fence they use is a lot better than what you would find in the big box stores and it comes with a limited lifetime warranty. We were also pleasantly surprised with the price."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The ideal distance between fence posts depends on several factors, including the terrain, the purpose of the fence, and the material used. For different types of fences, here are some general guidelines:

  • Wood and Metal Fences: Posts should be spaced between 5 and 8 feet apart.

  • Vinyl Fences: Spacing can be between 6 and 8 feet.

  • Chain-Link, Mesh, or Lattice Fences: Posts can be set anywhere from 4 to 25 feet apart, with 4-10 feet being common for chain-link.

  • Wire Fences: Spacing can be up to 12 feet apart.

Most homeowners who install a wrought iron fence do so because it provides security. The material is sturdy and deters intruders from entering your property. They're also built to last and won't rust if you purchase a galvanized iron fence. So, you don't have to worry about replacing fencing every few years like you might with wood or other less expensive materials. Most homeowners also adore the look of wrought iron fencing, which adds a timeless look to just about any style home.

Retaining walls offer more value to a home if they also divert water, prevent erosion, or help support a foundation. The ROI of a retaining wall is between 100% and 200%.

Both fences and walls can increase your home’s value, but you’ll spend significantly more on a wall than you would on a fence. A stone wall costs approximately $5,000, a retaining wall costs $6,100, and a fence costs $3,200 on average to put prices in perspective.

The bottom strand should sit between 12 to 15 inches from the ground. If you have a problem with small critters, you can aim for 8 inches. Three-strand fences should be 16 to 19 inches apart, four-strand fences should be 10 to 12 inches apart, and five-strand fences should be 8 and 10 inches apart.

When deciding between fence post foam and concrete, the best choice depends on your specific needs and priorities. Concrete is generally considered stronger and more durable, making it the preferred option for heavy, load-bearing posts. However, expanding foam offers several advantages, such as being more eco-friendly and curing much faster. For smaller fences or those made with lighter materials like vinyl or wire mesh, post foam is a good alternative. While concrete is more affordable, it is also harder to work with and has a longer curing time.
