Small jobs welcome

"Our experience with Auger's Plumbing was an excellent one. The woman who scheduled our appt. was friendly and efficient; she was able to get someone here that same day. When Jose and Erick arrived, Jose quickly discovered the problem with our water heater and fixed it immediately. He was very knowledgeable, explained the situation, and gave us some helpful information, as well. He also waited to be sure the issue was resolved. Very impressed with this company; Jose and Erick did a great job!"

Customers say: Quality work

"Sean and his team were excellent, they did a very nice job re-piping our house. Dave was the most efficient plumber I have ever hired. He worked tirelessly to complete the job in a very short time. All of their workmanship was first class. They cleaned up the work site each day and left the area cleaner that when they started. Justin was also very efficient in the restoration of the walls. he did a seamless job. You could not tell where the walls had been opened when he was done. Their office staff were very efficient and courteous handling the paperwork, scheduling the work and obtaining the necesary permits. I would hire SPR plumbing any time for my plumbing needs."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

To bleed air from the pipes, start by turning off the main water supply. Then, starting with the faucet that’s closest to the water valve, open each of your faucets halfway, making sure to open both hot and cold options if they’re separate. This allows the air to escape the pipes. Once all faucets are open, turn your water supply back on and let the water run for 10 to 15 minutes until the faucets stop sputtering.

Yes, you can put a bathroom in a bump-out. Some homeowners build a bump-out to enhance their bathrooms with new sinks, vanities, tubs, showers, or linen closets. Depending on the layout of your bathroom and what you’re adding to it, you may need to install new plumbing or reroute your existing plumbing lines.

In the United States, a depth of 36 inches (three feet) for underground water lines is the accepted industry standard. This depth varies from location to location based on local conditions. In areas with colder winters, they may be buried deeper to prevent frozen well water pipes : This is usually at least six inches below the frost level. The International Plumbing Code calls for a minimum of 12 inches below grade.

You can find out what type of shower valve you have by checking the manufacturer’s name and the valve’s serial number or model number. That information should be located on the back of the shower trim. You can use the name and number to do a quick online search to figure out which type of shower valve you have.

There are a couple of similar alternatives you may consider for a sewage ejector pump, including a grinder pump or a submersible sump pump. Submersible sump pumps protect your home from flooding from outside water, though, rather than handling wastewater from inside. A grinder pump macerates, or shreds, solid waste before pumping it onward to the sewer line.
