"Outstanding, over the top service! I was impressed from the start as they responded quickly, and It was so easy and convent to make an appointment on line. They showed up early and I liked that Sean was interested in improving my dry lawn areas and wasn't pushing extra repairs. When testing the system my well pipe unexpected burst open and my yard started to flood. This had nothing to do with Sean's work it was just a coincidence - the pipe was extremely rusted above ground. Luckily he called for help and another truck arrived with the equipment needed to cut the iron pipe and replace it with PVC. They worked late to get the job done and did an outstanding job! I thought the charges were very reasonable."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

Sod is different from grass because it comes in thick layers of mature grass, roots, and soil for quick transportation and easy installation. This is different from seeding your lawn, which involves directly laying grass seeds into the ground. Grass seeds take approximately 30 days to begin germinating and up to 18 months to reach maturity, whereas sod comes ready to go.

Yes, it's common for lawns to look bare after dethatching. Dethatching brings soil to the surface to create a "bald" look on your lawn. While you may choose to patch or reseed your lawn if bare patches seem excessive, it's normal for a lawn to look bare after dethatching. With the layer of debris that was blocking water, nutrients, and air from reaching your grass now gone, your lawn is likely to grow better than ever.

Although these terms sound similar and are sometimes used interchangeably, overseeding and reseeding your lawn are very different processes. Overseeding, the simpler of the two, involves a few steps to restore thinned or patchy grass by raking, aerating, and seeding uneven areas of turf to promote regrowth.

Reseeding a lawn is a more drastic and involved process, often necessary if the lawn is diseased, more than a third dead, or very overgrown with weeds. Unlike overseeding, it requires removing most of the existing lawn and starting a new one from scratch, a much bigger and more time-consuming job.

Fast-track your seeds to success by pre-soaking them for 24 hours in a shallow container filled with tap water. The water will penetrate the husk and moisten the embryos inside. After one day of soaking, sow the seeds in the soil. Never soak the seeds for more than one day (unless the specific variety calls for longer), as prolonged soaking could cause them to rot.

Yes! Fescue grass is a perennial that naturally regrows every spring. That’s why we recommend planting this grass variety in the spring to jump into the ideal growing and regrowing schedule. Keep in mind that fescue grasses thrive in cooler and transitional areas, so some species do best in moderate climates below 90 and above 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
