"I experienced plumbing issues over the weekend and this company was the first to respond. The young lady that answered the phone ( Jo) was very pleasant and informative and that's when I knew I made the right choice to use this company for my plumbing needs. My appointment was originally scheduled for 4:00 PM but Jo advised me that she would do her best to have someone out sooner. Eddie arrived hours before my scheduled appointment which made me very happy. Eddie did a fantastic job with unclogging the drains in my home. Eddie was also informative and provided me with suggestions on how to avoid drain clogs in the future. If you are looking for a company that is responsive, on time, and cares about you as a customer, this is the company for you. Thank you so much, Jo, Eddie, and Trust Eb Plumbing for such a great experience. This company has already been hired for my next plumbing job."

"Truly a good company to work with. Straight forward and honest with dependable people to help you. I had a leak at my back flow and the county said it was on my side so I had to have it repaired. I called Phillips Plumbing because they are local and a well established company. I spoke with Joe, their Master Plumber. He said it was an easy fix and told me what to do. I have experience doing pvc work. Joe told me that I could do it myself and save some money or they could come out the next day and fix it. Joe gave me the confidence to attempt it myself. With a couple complications, I completed the project myself. Phillips Plumbing even stopped by to see how the project was going and if I needed any help. This is an honest company that cares about people and helping those that need it. I have put Phillips Plumbing in my contacts and will share their information with anyone I know or meet that requires a good plumber."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

One common reason a sump pump stops working is improper sizing. Different locations need different sizes and power ratings of sump pumps depending on the typical amount of water the pump needs to manage. If your sump pump is too small for the quantity of water, it can overwork and either burn out or reduce the life of the unit. If the pump is too big, it can overwork and burn out early.

A water pressure booster doesn't require special maintenance. Like any house system, inspections should be a regular part of your annual schedule. Check for leaks, faulty valves, pressure loss, and mineral build-up. Pressure loss could be a result of mineral build-up, and you can descale the system with a vinegar and water solution.

Installing a battery backup for your sump pump is recommended, particularly if you live in an area with frequent power outages or severe rainstorms. A sump pump requires electricity to function, and a battery backup ensures it can continue to move water out of your home if the power goes out, providing crucial protection against flooding. Additionally, frequent power outages can create electrical surges that might damage the sump pump's motor. A battery backup system offers an additional layer of protection, ensuring your basement stays dry.

Some sump pumps are powered by water rather than electricity. Water-powered sump pumps generally use one gallon of city water to pump out two gallons of water from its basin. Therefore, if you're looking at a potential 10,000-gallon flood, your sump pump will need to use 5,000 gallons of city water to prevent it.

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to drain wastewater and solid waste into the municipal sewer system or a septic tank. For fixtures below this level, like those in a basement, gravity cannot move the waste upward. The ejector pump provides the force needed to pump the sewage up to the main line. Without one, wastewater from below-ground fixtures would back up, potentially causing a sewage overflow and flooding. If all of your plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity is sufficient and an ejector pump is not needed.
