Small jobs welcome

"Called company and was given a 2 hour window of when they would arrive and they called 30 minutes prior to arrival.  The service guy was very nice and emptied tank and cleaned up and covered tank back up.  I will definitely use ACME from now on.  The last  company that we used several years ago tried to sell me all kinds of services and tried to convince us that we had major drain field issues. This company did none of that, he just pumped it out and had me flush toilets just to make sure all was emptying properly and then he cleaned up.   Honest, very good service and for a good price!!

"I noticed that the plumbing in one of my bathrooms was backing up and called Glenn Tatum. They came the next day checked my plumbing, tried to unblock the piping and determined that my septic tank was not working. They charged $80.00 for that service call including Angie's List discount, which I found quite reasonable. They called in their septic service division which came to my home the same afternoon and found that my sum pump was  finished. They installed a new pump, new wiring, replaced the alarm float, and pumped the tank all in about one hour. By the end of the day both my plumbing and septic were working just fine. These guys were not cheap, but they were very efficient and I highly recommend them.

"I just pay $75 you never know who's going to come out. They do everything electrical. Just about everything is covered except the septic tank. I had an air conditioner replaced. It went great, all I had to do was pay for the freon. He didn't charge e more than what was needed."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

In Edgewater, you can manage minor septic issues by spacing out laundry loads, repairing dripping faucets, and using septic-safe cleaning products. Direct rainwater away from the drain field and never park vehicles over it to avoid soil compaction. Watch for unusually lush grass or damp spots, which may indicate early problems. If you notice sewage odors indoors or slow drains throughout the house, contact a professional promptly.

Helpful?

To keep septic tank service safe in Edgewater, always secure tank lids with child-resistant locks and clearly mark the drain field boundaries. Temporarily relocate pets and keep children indoors during service visits. Choose early morning or late afternoon for outdoor work to avoid heat stress. Educate your family about the importance of avoiding the septic area, and alert neighbors if odors or equipment may affect nearby yards.

Helpful?

In Edgewater, urgent septic tank service is needed if you experience sewage backups, persistent foul odors, soggy patches above the drain field, or slow drainage in multiple fixtures—these can signal system failure, especially with the area’s high water table. Routine septic maintenance, like scheduled pumping or minor lid repairs, can wait briefly but should be planned before the rainy season, as Edgewater’s sandy soils can accelerate issues if neglected.

Helpful?

As a new homeowner in Edgewater, begin with a detailed septic inspection to assess system health and locate all components, including the drain field. Review any existing maintenance logs and schedule a tank pump-out if overdue. Within your first six months, install risers for easier future access, set reminders for regular septic maintenance, and adjust landscaping to prevent root intrusion and surface runoff near your system.

Helpful?

Before starting septic tank service in Edgewater, confirm if permits are needed and review local septic regulations. Call to have underground utilities marked, and ensure all system components are accessible. Schedule work during dry periods to avoid complications from the region’s frequent storms. Request multiple contractor estimates, verify insurance, and ask about experience with Edgewater’s sandy soil and high water table to prevent unexpected issues.
