"I had purchased a big deal for the service, and I thought they overcharged me.  It was expensive. They did a good job. The disposal was there, they just had to reattach it. They did a quick job on it. Their professionalism, and clean up was very good. There is still standing water in the disposal, because I made a big deal about doing some of the plumbing. It took them forever to schedule an appointment."

"I thought I had a sewer pipe break because I had a continual wet spot in the carpet and had no other pipes in that area. Holland ran a camera through the pipe but found no breakage. Then he started asking me about possible sources for the leak. Of course, being an 'expert' I said there was no way the water was coming from anything in the kitchen because I had already checked that so he went to the dishwasher and stuck his little finger in the crack between the cabinet and the dishwasher and sure enough, it was wet! Evidently the water was seeping under the kitchen tiles, running about 15 feet and coming up in the den carpet. I couldn't see the leak shining a flashlight on that spot. Note to self: Stop diagnosing problems and let the experts do it!"

"Frank was an excellent plumber! He came out, was very professional, answered all my questions, was extremely helpful. I had a leaky valve. He changed it out for me, and then even gave me valuable knowledge regarding my drinking water/well pump/ and water filtration system. He also showed me where my water shut off valves were. He came out the same day as well! Thank you Frank!"

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

While some chemical drain cleaners with hydrochloric acid can dissolve hair, this method is not recommended as it can also destroy your plumbing pipes. A common DIY alternative is using baking soda and vinegar, which can help break down the clog but will not actually dissolve the hair. The best and safest method for clearing a hair clog is to remove it manually. You can use a drain snake, a straightened wire hanger with pliers to fish out the clog, or have a plumber use a professional auger for more severe blockages.

Roto-Rooter does not charge by the hour, so the quote you get after your in-person consultation should cover the whole project. This includes the time it takes a technician to get to your house and the time it takes to complete the job. For context, a plumber will charge anywhere from $45 to $200 per hour, but you may also pay a service fee or flat fee.

Using less toilet paper is the easiest way to prevent future clogs. Also, avoid flushing sanitary products, thick paper towels, or hair down the toilet. If you’ve been using a brick in the tank to reduce the water used to flush the toilet, take it out immediately. Bricks will eventually fall apart and clog your toilet drain. Keeping your toilet lid closed also helps avoid future clogs.

There are many things that could cause your basement floor drain to back up. One significant cause of a drainage backup is flushing non-flushable items, such as wipes, paper towels, and facial tissue. Other causes of a backed-up basement floor drain include tree roots impeding the drain pipe or an accumulation of hair, oil, and grease.

You could be smelling sewer gas in your kitchen because of a dry P-trap, clogged vent pipe, or leaking plumbing seals. If you smell a rotten egg odor, check your sink’s P-trap and plumbing connections first. A clogged or damaged vent pipe can trap sewer gas and push it back into your kitchen through the plumbing pipes. Loose or deteriorated seals around drainpipes can also allow sewer gas to leak out. If you can’t find the source, call a local plumber for expert help.
