What a professional crew! These four men showed up every day at 9 am sharp, and worked hard all day, until they got done what they needed to do for the day. The foreman, Kris, was an expert with that excavator! He was kind and kept me well informed throughout the process. The other members of the team, Brandon, Tracy and Garrett, were also knowledgeable and helpful. All of the men were all respectful and polite, never a hint of foul language or anything inappropriate, which was wonderfully refreshing, and noticed. They competently installed the new tank and the full drain field, never leaving me without septic availability or water overnight. At the end of the project my yard was cleaned up, smoothed out, grass-seeded with hay over the seed, and left in great condition. A big shoutout to the men from All About Plumbing and Septic! Thank you all so much

Thank you Dixie!!! Today was the 3rd time that we have hired Dixie, over about 14 years. Just like before, they were professional, did a good job and didn't damage our property. Jose and Dustin were on time, completed the job and they were friendly. I'm not sure, but I think they have charged me the same price as I first paid, in 2008... Thanks Dixie Septic!!

Inspection and cleaning of tank and lift station went well. The company also replaced the top covers of the manholes.

Several years ago a company broke the top on my septic tank. I had a lot of difficulty in finding some to commit to fix or replace the top. I found John on Angie's List and he said he would come look at the situation. He called me that day and gave me a complete explanation of what was needed and an estimate of the cost. He had to make a new lid in a different configuration than the original which was less costly but just as effective. We arranged to do the work on Saturday and he and the pumper truck showed up exactly on time. After the tank was open we of course discovered lots of roots which he removed. He did explain that due to the age of the drain field that it may have to be replaced later because of roots. They replaced the lid, recovered the tank, removed the roots and debris and left the yard neat and clean with no cleanup for me. He organized every step of the job well and had all of the right equipment. He answered all of our questions and if I need my drainfield replace I will certainly call him

Workers showed up on time, did an excellent job. Helped put the fence back up and left area as clean as possible. Would for sure use this company again if needed. Price was best in area. Don't hesitate to call John for all of your septic needs. Also had an Angie's list coupon for $100.00 for drainfield and 5.00 for tank pumping

They explained in great detail the whole process of the site evaluation about what needed to be done and how they will go about doing it. They spent time looking at other options or alternatives to what I was looking at doing and as far as I was concerned, they made me a better informed consumer going forward and doing what I was doing. My interaction with them has been great and the work that they did turned out excellent. I would absolutely use them again in the future

Septic Tank Service FAQ

  1. What are the signs your septic tank is full?

Answer: There are several signs that indicate your septic tank could be full. These include standing water over your septic tank, a strong odor coming from your yard, gurgling water, slow drains, or a sewage backup. While many of these signs could also be indicative of a clogged system, they should all be checked out by a professional ASAP to avoid costly damages. In the absence of any of these signs, it’s recommended that septic tanks be emptied every 3 to 5 years on average.

  2. How often should a septic tank be serviced?

Answer: On average, septic tanks should be serviced every 3 to 5 years in the absence of any worrying signs that the tank is clogged or full. The size of your septic tank, the number of people living in your home, and your average water usage will all impact how often your septic tank needs to be serviced.

  3. What are the most common causes of septic tank failure?

Answer: The most common cause of septic tank failure is improper maintenance. Failing to pump a septic tank on the appropriate schedule will cause septic tank failure and likely result in a costly septic tank repair or replacement. On average, septic tanks should be pumped every 3 to 5 years, but the size of your tank, the number of people in your home, and your average water usage may shorten or extend this timeframe.

  4. How much does it cost to pump a septic tank?

Answer: The cost to pump a septic tank is $400 on average or about $0.30 per gallon. The size of your septic tank, as well as local labor costs, will impact the cost of pumping your septic tank. Most septic tanks are between 600 and 2,000 gallons in size, meaning the average cost range is between $180 to $600.

  5. How much does it cost to install a septic system?

Answer: The cost to install a septic tank system is between $3,060 and $9,810, on average. The size of the septic tank you choose, the land you’re installing it on, the type of system you choose, and local labor costs will all influence the total cost of installing a septic system. Anaerobic septic tanks (those that don’t need oxygen) typically cost between $3,000 and $8,000. Aerobic systems, which utilize oxygen to activate bacteria and are popular on smaller properties, usually cost between $10,000 and $20,000.

  6. How long does a septic system last?

Answer: When septic systems are well maintained, they can last up to 30 years or more. If a septic system isn’t properly maintained, such as when it isn’t pumped regularly, it may malfunction and require costly repairs or a premature replacement. In general, septic tank pumping is recommended every 3 to 5 years to ensure the septic system lasts as long as possible.
