"Allstar Electricals Joe, called when on the way to a job and was at my home ahead of time. He gave a price to do the job and after my approval, he completed the job in a very timely manner. He had to replace two ceiling exhaust fans. Great job Joe. Will for sure call Allstar Electrical Experts, Inc. again with any more electrical problems."

"Cornerstone fixed it! Firstly: they agreed with me that there was a problem (other companies would charge me money then declare victory and tell me than an 80-degree house was normal). They were the only ones to correctly identify the source of the problem (the plenum and ducting). They were very patient with a very frustrated me."

"I liked that you always got someone on the phone when you called and they stuck to their word. They came when they said they would. We thought we would have a problem when one of the workers made a hole in our ceiling, but they came back to fix it when they said they would be coming and you can’t even tell the difference. Quality workmanship! I would definitely re-hire if I needed to."

"Larry's tasks were: Modify my doggy door for my small dog. He also had to remove an attic fan in the gable end and replace it with one that was more efficient. It turned into a larger project than it sounds. He had to cut a larger opening through the side of the house and also install a cover vent with one that was custom made. Larry went and picked up all the materials, fan and had to find someone to make a custom vent. He did everything to perfection and cleaned up after it was finished. You never would have known he was there. Thanks, Larry-again !!"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

There are many types of ceiling fans, from self-automated smart ceiling fans to outdoor ceiling fans that provide additional comfort to your patio. What you choose all comes down to function and personal taste.

Consider your ceiling height when selecting a ceiling fan. Rooms with ceilings under eight feet high will do well with low-profile ceiling fans, also known as flush-mount or hugger ceiling fans. If your home has cathedral ceilings or ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, you’ll need a large ceiling fan with a heavy-duty motor to get adequate air circulation.

Installing a ceiling fan where no wiring exists is a difficult and potentially dangerous job that should not be attempted as a DIY project. It is recommended to hire a certified electrician to build the necessary electrical infrastructure. In some areas, building codes require this work to be done by a professional to ensure safety and compliance. Due to the complexity, this type of installation is a significant job that could cost up to $2,000.

Ceiling fans require periodic cleaning of blades to avoid dust accumulation, checking screws and connections for firmness, and occasional lubrication for components, keeping the fan running smoothly and quietly over time.

In short, no. You can use the square footage range chart in this article to determine the right size ceiling fan for both indoor and outdoor spaces. However, weather elements can damage types of ceiling fans that aren't designed for outdoor use, so your ceiling fan should be weather-resistant if you plan to install it outside.

There are many types of ceiling fans available, each designed for different spaces and needs. Standard ceiling fans are the most common type and work well in most rooms. Low-profile ceiling fans are better suited for rooms with low ceilings. Smart ceiling fans can be controlled with a smartphone or voice commands. For larger spaces with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, large ceiling fans are ideal. Dual-motor fans have two motors to produce more airflow in multiple directions. You can also find energy-efficient or Energy-Star models that can be up to 60% more efficient, as well as fans with built-in lights or retractable blades.
