"I recently moved into a rental that was not taken care of by previous tenants. I had sinus issues the moment I moved in which lead me to find a hvac company to come clean the ducts. I was able to schedule a service within 2 days of the request. Ken was an exceptional tech who serviced this home. His attention to detail has now made my home more enjoyable to live in and my sinuses are no longer an issue. The sanitizer he sprayed in the venting system is what sold me on this company. Very pleased with this company and Kens service. I hope I save someone the pain of searching, like I did. Look no further, I would highly recommend using them."

"Our AC stopped working late in the afternoon. We called Anthony's and they had a technician out to our home before 5:30 pm. Greg was unable, after several attempts and options, to get our unit back up and running. He stayed with us while he reached out to Madison in sales, which was after their normal business hours, and Madison was immediately able to quote us a new unit, get us financing and schedule us for delivery and installation the next day. Anthony's installation team, Edwin & Robert, were at our home just shortly after 8 am. They were very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. They were also considerate of our lawn in not damaging it due to the heat & the size of the HVAC. When the work was completed, everything was cleaned up and they stayed to make sure the unit was working and our home was cooling down. Tom called the next day to make sure we were satisfied with the service and sent Garrett out just to double check on everything and to explain or answer any questions we may have on the new unit. My husband and I are EXTREMELY satisfied! We would certainly, without hesitation, recommend them to anyone who needs any sort of AC work done. Thank you Madison and your whole team. We feel we found a new family with Anthony's."

"Fontana Brothers installed my new Bosch HVAC system, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Freddie and Shaquille arrived exactly on time, worked efficiently, and left the work area cleaner than it was before they began. Their attention to detail and professionalism were outstanding. As a Realtor for more than 30 years, I’ve dealt with many HVAC companies, and Fontana Brothers continues to be one of the very best. They consistently deliver excellent service to both me and my clients, and their pricing remains highly competitive. I trust them completely with my referrals. Special thanks to Dan Fontana, who heads the service department — always organized, responsive, and helpful — as well as the entire office staff, who are consistently friendly and a pleasure to work with. I will absolutely continue to recommend Fontana Brothers to others seeking HVAC installation, repair, or replacement."

"The repair men (Steven and his father) were excellent!  Now about the service we got from the service/sales manager on our other air conditioner. We initially called because the air conditioner-heat pump in the new wing of the house had stopped heating. The service manager came out the same day we phoned, which was very impressive. He checked it and told us it had lost it's refrigerant. He found one fitting that seemed a little loose, so he said without doing a VERY expensive pressure test, he wasn't positive that was the problem. He also told us that if it leaked out again, they would have to do this pressure test to find the problem. He re filled the refrigerant ($353.80) and also convinced us to purchase a 2 year service contract for $179.00 because that would give us a discount on future problems plus they would come check both units twice a year.  The unit he re-filled worked for less than a week. When the actual technicians who had done an excellent job on the attic unit were here they checked the one that had stopped working again (that unit is only 3 years old) and found exactly where the leak was. It was quite obvious as there was oily refrigerant at the connection of the dryer, located outside. I called the service mgr. again and told him what the problem HAD BEEN AND STILL WAS. He then came back to verify that the dryer was the actual problem and gave us a price of $694.09 less $138.81 ($555.28 total due to the service contract)  to send the technicians  to fix it CORRECTLY.
I was VERY unhappy when I called him and told him he should have checked the dryer when he was here the FIRST time, because that actually is something that frequently caused refrigerant leaks. We learned this from an air con. tech we know who lives in St. Petersburg who told us that was the FIRST thing he checks.
The LPAC service mgr. told me he did check it when he had come the first time, but it was a very windy day that day and his "equipment" just didn't work well in such windy weather.  It would have been nice if he had come back on a NOT windy day to re-check it before it lost all the refrigerant he had put in it.  He did lower the price and ended up agreeing to charge $500.00 which was a $50 reduction in the price since I was so unhappy. The actual technicians came and fixed it CORRECTLY and re-charged it with the necessary refrigerant AGAIN.
SO, as you can see, I have VERY mixed feelings about even saying I would use this company again beyond the 2 year contract..

"Had my new rental house ducts and dryer cleaned after i got ripped off by the $99 whole house duct cleaning gimmick. I called fresh air services,Darren answered my call right away his pricing was transparent and was less than other quotes I received. He showed up with his teammate and they went right to work cleaned my 10 ducts and dryer in about an hour. They actually take the vents down and send this brush hooked to their vacuum into the system. For a small fee i had them coat my return with this anti microbial coating made specifically for air conditioning and boy does it look so much better than the fiberglass duct board yellow. He even got on the roof and took a video to show me the vent was free of clogs. Their equipment was very impressive. I just returned to the home for the first time in about 3 weeks and the fresh smell from their sanitation fog is still detectable in the air. Donâ t get ripped off by the $99 whole house duct cleaning go with the pros at fresh air services"

"We received excellent service from Jason at Duct Depot. I did a lot of shopping around and hands down best ac duct cleaning company and for the best prices. Most of the companies I called asking for an estimate, tried to bait me in with the $99 scam. A full blown ac and air duct cleaning that hasn't been done in a long time will never cost you $99 to start with. So what these companies do is once they are in and actually access your ac and ducts, then they tell you how much it really costs and then you feel cornered and pressured to get it done bc they are already there and already have everything open apart. That is not what happened with duct depot. I did a lot of reading and researching, so I don't just jump into anything blindly. The estimates I did with other companies I received were pretty high and non-informative but not with Jason, he explained every bit of the process and was eager to make you happy. The ones that were really high, once I'd tell them I had a lower estimate they would suddenly be willing to take off huge amount of money. Red flag to me, why wouldn't I get the best price to begin with? Not Duct Depot. I got a fair quote right away and I didn't have to feel like I was negotiating a used car sale. After they clean the system, they do show you the before and after pictures. It is amazing how dirty ours was. The cherry on top? After they do the cleaning, they will do the maintenance cleaning for $99 and they recommend to do it again in a few years. The other companies were saying within a year. That made me feel like we really got a company who isn't just about raking in a bunch of money but actually want to be honest and fair with it's customers. That is very hard to come by these days. My neighbors and a friend have used them since I did mine and they are also extremely happy with the results!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, mini-split or ductless AC systems add value to a home and do not devalue it. They are an attractive feature for potential buyers, especially in older homes without existing ductwork, as they provide a practical air conditioning solution without the significant expense and hassle of installing traditional ducts. Ductless systems also eliminate issues associated with conventional ductwork, such as noise and the potential for pests. Furthermore, homeowners value energy-efficient solutions, and mini-splits offer high efficiency for both heating and cooling, plus zoned temperature control. This leads to lower energy consumption and reduced electric bills, which is a major selling point.

Though it may seem redundant, you can absolutely have a central AC unit and a window AC in your home. In fact, if you place a window AC unit near your central air, it can help move the cooler air throughout your home. But doubling up on your AC methods can get pricey, so factor in cost accordingly.

You can air condition your Arizona room by extending your home’s existing HVAC system or adding a ductless mini-split system. Arizona rooms that have full windows rather than screens only are a better choice for air conditioning—screens will let the cold air out as fast as the air conditioner can make it.

Setting your AC unit to 78 degrees can, indeed, help you save energy. In fact, according to experts, every degree you turn the unit up could save you between 1% and 3% on your energy bills. That said, turning your unit off entirely while you’re out might actually be less efficient than keeping it on at a higher temperature. Why? The unit will need to work extra hard to cool the house back off again after all those hot hours.

You need to know the square footage of your home first. Multiply that number by 20, which will get you the BTUs (British Thermal Units) needed to cool your home efficiently. Homes up to 1,000 square feet usually need a 1.5-ton unit; homes 1,000 to 1,200 square feet usually need a 1.75-ton unit, and homes 1,200 to 1,400 square feet usually need a 1.9-ton unit. Talk to a local pro for more specific advice on your home.
