"I had a 400 square foot detached garage that had been used as my husbands work shop and I decided to renovate it and make it a guest cottage by extending it 420 more square feet.  Looked up remodeling contractors on Angies list to help me in my selection.  I found Steppen & Spaulding listed as well as others and received quotes from them as well as three others.  My choice after reviewing Steppen & Spaulding's contract was made.  They did exactly what their contract stated with the exception of when it came to the fill for the septic system requiring more fill due to changes in the counties rules regarding septic systems; at a slight increase in cost for the fill.  Project started in November 2012 and completed in August 2013.  They were very accommodating throughout the whole process and I am very pleased with the end results.  Would definetly hire them again. Trusted them as well with the selection of their sub-contractors. What impressed me the most was that they cleaned up the work site at the end of each work day on the project and required that of any sub-contactor as well.  Not one to be able to visualize the concept of a structure from a drawing on paper (blueprint) to the finished product; I had to put a lot of faith in Dan Spaulding and Thomas Steppen. Thank you Dan, Thomas and Jay.  I am very happy with the finished product and the wonderful work you did.
