Fresh Coat

Eric was absolutely amazing to work with! We got this project done in 4 days from me first posting the job request! You find me a person who does it faster. I was very clear on my budget, and Eric was more than happy to work with me on it. He was very good at communicating where he was at requiring the project, and sent me photos of the job when it was completed. He not only saved me time, but he saved me stress — two things I value greatly as someone trying to manage a project while living in a town 3 hours away. I highly recommend Eric and his company to handle your painting jobs. They will care for it as if it’s their own home. It couldn’t have worked out any better. Fresh Coat did a really nice job on our exterior painting in a reasonable amount of time given a rainy late-2018 summer. Comparing several quotes, we selected Fresh Coat from an online, line item quote that allowed us to select what to omit and include in the contract. We selected a higher paint grade, and elected to do some of the painting ourselves, i.e. ceilings on lanai and front porch. Thanks to Tim and Javier for setting the stage for work, and Mike, Mike, and Jessica for the professional painting. A pleasure to work with you all. And thanks for small follow-up work after we made final payment. Would use again.

Fresh Coat of Gainesville did an absolutely amazing job removing wallpaper from our four bathrooms (with 10' ceilings), then did an equally great job painting them and also our great room. I had three other companies give me estimates before I hired Fresh Coat; the other companies were all intimidated by the amount of wallpaper and its strong adhesion to the walls and were describing pretty crazy ways they'd take it off, adding that they'd have to skim coat the walls because of the scrapes, gouges and leftover glue that would inevitably be left behind. Javier of Fresh Coat, however, looked at the wallpaper and said removing it would be no problem, that the key to taking off wallpaper is steam and patience, and that if you are patient, it will peel off no problem. His fees were also comparable to the others. His confidence in the wallpaper removal prompted me to hire his company, and I am very glad I did. Andy and Frank took the wallpaper off beautifully, with no scrapes or gouges, and they removed all traces of glue so that when they were done, the walls were smooth, dry, and not at all sticky or gooey. They also removed the wallpaper behind the mirrors and fixtures. I was totally impressed. Andy and Frank were also very professional and pleasant, and treated the house with respect; they covered everything and lined the walkways with dropcloths, and at the end of each work day, would leave the rooms clean and picked up. Andy, Frank, and Lazaro also did a wonderful job priming and painting the bathrooms and great room. Javier and project manager Tim were also both excellent to work with. Very responsible and responded to my calls and texts quickly. They resolved a couple of problems we ran into professionally, fairly, quickly, and graciously. I would hire this company again and recommend them without hesitation.

They did a great job on everything. Only minor complaint was that they missed a couple of places of wood that needed to be replaced. When I pointed it out to them they corrected it immediately.

From start to finish the repair and painting of our 40-year old house by Fresh Coat exceeded our expectations. Tim did a thorough assessment and gave us a detailed proposal of repair options. They were fairly priced and we were able to make choices based on our budget and never felt pressured. Andy did a meticulous restoration of our weathered front doors. Frank’s carpentry expertise and attention to detail was outstanding, and Dave impressed us by taking the time to do things right instead of cutting corners. Everyone else on the crew was polite and professional. It was evident that they took pride in their work. Even Javier, the owner, came out on a weekend to help finish the job. He made sure that everything was done to our satisfaction. We had a very good experience working with Fresh Coat and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality job.

Great! They were so professional and responsive. We painted the kitchen cabinets and laundry room cabinets white and they look wonderful. We painted the entire interior of the house and they did a great job. The cost was reasonable given how large our project was.

They did a really good job. It didn't have a railing and it wasn't to spec or code require. My deck is more than 3 feet off the ground and didn't have a railing around it. They did a great job on that. They applied primer and repainted with non slip type paint.

They also had to do some wall work. We changed the towel racks that were glued to the wall so they had to be patched and fixed. Quality was outstanding!

They tore down the wallpaper. Repaired a few places and painted it.

They did a very good job. They did come when they said they would. They were responsive, they seemed to know what they were talking about. They have a crew of people, we were a little hesitant of getting just one individual person working by himself. I guess that's why we chose them. They are more expensive than some, but the other companies did not impress me. This guy really impressed me, he came out and told me everything that was going to go on. He had a team there when he said they were going to be there.

They did a very professional job. Javier met with me personally and reviewed the scope of work that was required. The work was coordinated with the weather and completed in a timely manner. I thought their attention to detail was very good and they even replaced and painted some boards that got damaged on the neighboring fence at their own expense. The price was very reasonable for the work performed and better than previous quotes I was given.

Javier and Tim were easy to work with. Javier and Tim came out before they got started and met with me and went through all the rooms to make sure we were on the same page. They were always on time, professional, and reliable which isn't easy to find nowadays. Tim managed my project, and oversaw the crew. He is straightforward and takes pride in his work. I am very OCD and Javier and Tim followed my requirements exactly. Their was an issue with a few of my closets because they didn't get painted. I called Javier and discussed it with him and Tim had them painted by that night.

The two painters did a careful, top-notch job. They did things in the right way and did not cut any corners. They were also nice people, whom I felt that I could trust. They had good work ethic and seemed to be happy and proud of what they do. The project manager and the owners were responsive and understanding. In one sentence, they are good people doing good work!

TERRIBLE! WOULD NEVER TRUST THEM AGAIN! We paid them over $900 to repair the wood rot prior to painting. We got a contract on the house and the inspection found over 40 areas where wood rot was just painted over. The invoice to repair all the places was just over $1000. This many areas at this cost could not have been an oversight on their part. The owner refuses to give ANY of our money back for the work they obviously did not do. I strongly recommend staying away from them, especially if they claim you need wood rot repaired prior to painting.

TERRIBLE!!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! If I could give worse rating I would.. We hired them to paint our home prior to listing it for sale and understood they were suppose to be one of the best in the area. NOT TRUE! We were not living in the home so we had to trust they would do a good job. It wasn't the delay in completion or that we had to have them back out to clean up the mess they left behind in the yard that has me giving this review. My issue is they found wood rot and offered to repair the wood rot before painting. THEY DID NOT DO WHAT THEY SAID OR CHARGED FOR. They charged almost $1000 to repair all the wood rot they said they found. ALL THEY DID WAS PAINT OVER THE WOOD ROT they charged us to repair. We found out when the home was professionally inspected by a WDO Inspector and OVER 40 PLACES OF WOOD ROT WAS FOUND PAINTED OVER... NOT REPAIRED! The invoice to have repairs done that Fresh Coat had said they did and charged us to repair was about $1000. A few places I might understand they may have missed but over 40!!! That, to me, is intentional! Even worse the Owners refused to refund ANY of the repair money. Even after he came out while repairs were being done and saw the WORK FRESH COAT DIDN'T DO BUT WAS PAID TO DO. We paid them approx. $4000 total for the job. In my opinion, if you do make the mistake and hire them, especially if it involves repairs, that you hire an independent professional WDO inspector to verify the work was actually done and not just painted over!

Great job! Eric Goyanes was professional and timely. Eric even coordinated scheduling directly with the pressure washing vendor so I didn't have to. Would recommend to others.

Javier was very professional and personable.  I can't say anything negative about the whole experience nor the crew.  They went beyond what I expected.  A beautiful paint job!  I will be using Fresh Coat again for some interior painting in the fall.  I highly recommend them.

Javier Harrington, the General Manager, came out promptly and provided a professional proposal for the job. Professional was demonstrated throughout the entire job and the result was a high quality paint job. This house is very large with approx. 3000 sq ft living area and is 2 stories. The exterior is made of Brick and Cut-brick stucco which had never been painted. They came out and prepped for painting by caulking all seams, covering the windows and other areas which would not be painted. Then they applied a full coat of primer/sealer, and then 2 full coats of finish paint - Sherwin-Williams Super Paint. They also painted all the trim and doors. Additionally, they made some repairs to some of the trim areas. The resulting finish is absolutely gorgeous. Tim Pickle, the Project Manager, was extremely courteous and made all effort to assure we were satisfied with the job.

Tim and I agreed on a date and time. He came out in advance to scope it out and recommended I have additional paint at the ready (the deal is for labor on this offer - homeowner adds the paint). He coordinated with me the evening before and his painter was on hand the next morning. He left the place clean, kept working and was very pleasant. FRESH COAT is my "go to" company. The other business cards have been officially trashed!
