"The installation of my flooring went incredible!!! I can’t imagine what it may have been like with another contractor with the amount of repairs and unexpected repairs. Terry has great integrity and pride in his work and the finished product. He made sure to check the whole house for dips, sags, and buckled spots in my previous 11 year old flooring before putting the new luxury vinyl in. Terry made sure to explain to me why these needed to be cut away and repaired to ensure the best foundation for new flooring. He repaired water and termite damage to the sub-floor which was a bigger task than anymore could imagine. I could go on and on but to sum everything up if you are looking for a professional, prompt, contractor with integrity you have found your guy!!!!!!! I will be hiring Terry for many more repairs to my home later on down the road."
"Richard was excellent when he came to review the work needed. The price was competitive with other contractors. However the final product was not so excellent. I would say my expectations were greater than the final product. Cleanup left a little to be desired"

"It is with immense pleasure that I share my exceptional experience with your contracting services. When my 1998-built home's master bathroom was in dire need of a complete overhaul, I initially faced considerable frustration searching for a capable contractor online. Many companies I contacted only offered partial solutions, primarily focusing on shower renovations, which was a far cry from the comprehensive transformation I envisioned. From our very first interaction, your team stood out. You not only expressed genuine interest in undertaking the *entire* renovation as I had specified but also demonstrated a clear understanding of my vision and requirements.our professionalism was evident throughout the process – from the initial consultation and detailed quote, which I found to be remarkably fair and transparent for the scope of work involved, to the consistent communication and punctuality of your crew. I wholeheartedly recommend your services to anyone seeking a professional."
"The Prime Contractor was amenable to making contractual changes before the project began; this was greatly beneficial to assuaging customer concerns. The majority of sub-contractors performed assigned tasks without incident, all without any accidents—and all were insured. The final product resulted in a detached garage with framing, roofing, gutters, doors, windows, electrical and plumbing that are worthy or show-casing first-rate craftsmanship. I am extremely pleased with the final result and would readily work with this company again on future projects."
"I should start by saying that I was on a very tight budget which really did not match with my dreams. I had many disappointments with contractors in the past - lost my historic home in Fort Lauderdale and $90,000.00 because of unscrupulous contractors. Long story. Anyway, I had understandable fears as I embarked on the venture of updating my tiny home in Ocala. Dan Spaulding was my first contact. We spent quite some time on the planning part of the work - MANY emails back and forth exchanging ideas. He was always patient with me. Took me shopping for tile and flooring and granite. Eased my panic attacks, made excellent suggestions, and made many trips to the house during the time the work was done. Tom Steppen and his assistant were the hands-on guys. You've heard the expression "jack of all trades, master of none" ? Well Tom is a MASTER of all trades, in my opinion. The quality of his work was excellent. He and his assistant, Jay, were perfectionists through all phases of the work. They had subcontractors come in for some plumbing and electrical work. The only downside was really caused by me. I made several changes as we went along and drove Tom crazy, which created friction between us. It's really hard to anticipate certain things until the work is in progress and then you get ideas. Too many visits to Houzz kept my mind whirling. So try to have everything nailed down before work starts - and then stay off of HGTV and Houzz until the work is completed. I am exceedingly pleased with the outcome and highly recommend Steppen and Spaulding. "
"Very good, on time arrival, completed job, good house keeping. Also fix front door as some settling happened. Overall very good job and would highly recommend this contractor"
"Excellent, amazing! They were on time ,actually ahead of schedule. They were professional, they cleaned up,no additional costs just a great company. The owner who is very nice was present for the entire job. Every time I called or E-mailed they responded immediately. By far the best experience I have ever had with a contractor or any company. The Roof has made a huge difference in our home air comfort and the electric costs are down 20-30%."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts
When hanging a door frame, it’s recommended that you use screws, not nails. Screws are more secure, easier to tighten, and easier to remove if you need to adjust the frame. On average, the cost to replace a door frame is about $400, but you can save on labor costs if you’re confident in your ability to DIY the project.
House framing can be expensive because the materials are pricey, and the job requires a high level of expertise. The more complex the plans, the more expensive the job, but even the most basic frame needs to be installed with high-quality materials and precision. When pricing your home’s framework, remember that a sturdy frame is necessary to create a safe structure.
Metal stud framing parts include the studs themselves, upper and lower tracks that act as top and bottom wall plates, various angle fasteners and clips, screws for fastening pieces togeher, metal straps, c-channel supports, and thicker steel supporting structures. Roof framing metal components include pre-fabricated trusses, heavy-gauge stud pieces, and various plates and fasteners.
Not all porch columns are load-bearing, though they can be. Some porch columns are simply decorative. There are ways to identify a load-bearing column, like looking for visible seams and a foundation. Also, check to see if the column directly enters the ground. In some porch installations, a contractor will excavate a hole to install a column into the earth along with a buried cement base for stability.
When deciding if you should use 2x6 or 2x8 deck joists, consider the size of the deck, joist spacing, and materials. Larger decks, larger-spaced joists, and weaker wood all require more support, meaning they need larger joists. For example, 2x8 redwood joists spaced 16 inches apart can only safely span up to 10 feet and 7 inches. On the other hand, 2x10 southern pine joists spaced 12 inches apart can be as big as 16 feet and 2 inches. If you aren’t sure what size joist is best for your project, speak with your deck builder.
