"Wonderful experience with Xtra Care. I live in a DC rowhouse and needed underdeck landscaping work to control the drainage/mosquito problems. Xtra Care was very attentive to cost and suitability needs, adjusting plans multiple times until we had exactly what we needed. During construction, additional work was identified as necessary and Xtra Care did so with professionalism. I am very happy with the work and even happier that my mosquito problem has been eliminated. I would highly recommend Xtra Care for work in the DC metro area."

"Excellent. Within 24 hrs, I had received an on-site assessment, quote, and scheduled for services. They removed a layer of soil that had been destroyed by stray cats, removed a couple of unhealthy plants, layed down new top soil, trimmed/prumed my perennials, layed mulch and cleaned up afterwards. They used high quality soil and much, and I am quite happy with their work!"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

The best disposal method for hazardous waste is to take it to a professional dumping facility that specializes in and accepts hazardous materials. These facilities will dispose of the materials in a way that is safe for both humans and the environment. If you don’t have access to a nearby facility, the best way to get rid of hazardous waste is to call a professional garbage removal company who handles disposing of hazardous materials .

The best disposal method for hazardous waste is recycling or donation, if possible. That way, the world can reduce its consumption of raw materials and the volume at which materials have to be treated and disposed of. If recycling or donation is not an option, most waste can be disposed of through landfills or incinerators, but their collection and treatment are separate from regular day-to-day waste disposal.

Unfortunately, lead dust does not look different from any other type of dust. You cannot detect it with the naked eye. To determine if you have lead dust in your home, you will need to hire a local company to take a sample from the paint and test it for you in a lab.

By using PPE, sealing work areas, and following containment procedures.

Exterior paint contains a higher level of VOCs, which can be dangerous if you’re exposed to it for a long period of time. The good news is that paint’s toxicity reduces significantly once fully dried and cured. Do not keep open exterior paint cans in your home, basement, or garage, exposing your household to harmful chemicals over time.
