His office manager Jess answered all my questions through email courteously when I had them. The crews were quick, responsive, and careful in my home, especially around my curious dog. I asked for a very elaborate and difficult herringbone tile backsplash. The team handled its tediousness beautifully. The estimate was much lower than another company I had researched. I plan to use Adam contracting next year to replace my roof ... yes, they do that, too!"

"One day I walked past a GS Builders sign in front of a house in our neighborhood where they were putting a second story onto a house that used to be a lot like ours. We spoke to Chris Papadopoulos, the owner and architect for GS Builders, and he explained their process. We paid less than we had previously paid an architect for one design, and received three preliminary designs. We worked with Chris for a couple of months on getting the design to a point where we really liked it while staying within our budget. The design was a collaboration in a way that it had not been with any of the other professionals with whom we worked on this project. Chris and his wife Nicoleta, who served as our project manager and interior designer, helped us to find a bank and assisted with the process of qualifying for a construction loan, without which we would not have been able to do the project. We started work on our project more than a year after our first discussion with GS Builders, in February of 2016. Although we had initially considered staying in the house during the construction, we ultimately decided against it, renting a smaller house nearby. The construction mostly went smoothly, although there were occasional blips in communication. We did appreciate that they kept surprises to a minimum. We had time to look at all the framing work including custom bay windows. It is solidly built and expertly done. While the builders were working on the house, my wife and I were working to find plumbing and lighting fixtures, kitchen appliances, cabinetry and countertops, paint and flooring combinations, and roofing and siding materials. Nicoleta was a fantastic resource, helping us to find vendors and websites, working with us to figure out what we liked and how to create the new space. The tilework, painting and other finishes that the crew from GSB put together is absolutely first-rate. They worked exceptionally hard and took great pride in their craftsmanship. We moved back in almost exactly six months after we moved out. We are in love with our new house. This kind of renovation creates stress in ways that I couldn't have imagined before I went through it and I think that GS Builders could help themselves by improving their communications and planning processes. We feel lucky that we chose to work with GS Builders. If we had to do the whole thing over we would choose them again. And when we save up enough to screen in the back porch, we will go back to them without hesitation. On-Time, High-Quality, and Reasonable Cost. We got all three."

"This review is long overdue. I hired Virginia Home Remodel to construct a new full bathroom out of an existing large closet in my bonus room. They had provided a reasonable estimate for the job - in the ballpark (but slightly lower than) other estimates. David (main POC) is very fair, personable, and willing to go the extra mile to do what is right for the customer. The crew was courteous, professional, neat, and even provided some innovative design solutions that resulted in (hands down) the nicest bathroom in the house. David is now my "bathroom remodel" guy, and I'd also consider him for other remodel efforts in my home."

"We hired Sino-American General Contracting to build a porch for us in 2018. This was the fourth project we hired Mason to design and execute. As has been the case with all of his work, the results were outstanding. The deck is well constructed and beautiful. This is one of the best investments we have ever made. It has extended the living space in our home, allowing us to entertain outside 8-9 months of the year. During the pandemic, we have used the porch every day. Mason, working with an architect, conceived and executed the space with precision. He suggested details along the way that stayed within our budget, but ensured that the final product was exquisite. And, when you work with Mason you never have to worry about projects not being designed to code. He is exacting in his work. As soon as we can, we will hire him again to update an aging bathroom. "Marks-Woods (MW) was a pleasure to work with from the planning phase through the completion of the project. Their pricing was fair and MW did an excellent job staying on schedule and within the budget. In fact, our project was completed a month earlier than what was originally scheduled. Throughout the project, our project manager and other members of the MW team were receptive to our critiques and change order requests. All questions and concerns were addressed immediately and to our satisfaction. I would recommend MW to anyone that is considering a home renovation. We plan on using them in the future."

"I quickly received an estimate on adding insulation to a colonial. The work was scheduled shortly after that. (~1-2 weeks from what I remember). Workers arrived on time and were pleasant. Part of the job included one of the workers climbing through a hole in a ceiling, since there was no access to the attic in that section of the house. That attic section was also the only access to the area above a cathedral ceiling. They spent quite a bit of time making sure that there was insulation between all the beams in the roof above the cathedral ceiling. This insulation makes a huge difference. Initially it was the initial 1965 insulation, ~1 1/2 inch thick and absent in sections. Now it is R44 and was a great investment. It was well worth the cost considering they insulated a large colonial in addition to a section of house that was not easily accessible and took more time than expected. They did not charge more than the estimate."
